I logged into fog, removed and reinstalled the capone plugin. Capone still acts the same and these changes did not trigger anything new in the logs: (I waited to 14:54 to start the uninstall / reinstall)

Now I’m very confused. I just reinstalled Ubuntu 12.04 and fog 1.1.0 from scratch and capone still does not work. What am I doing wrong? (This clean install is on the hardware that has been my production fog server for 2+ years)
Here’s my install:

Ubuntu 12.04 on raid 0+1
Logged in as root and did everything as root this time. I’ve never installed or used fog as root before, just did this time to be “safe”.

wget -O fog_1.1.0.tar.gz https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/freeghost/FOG/fog_1.1.0/fog_1.1.0.tar.gz?r=https%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Ffreeghost%2F&ts=1402051465&use_mirror=superb-dca3
tar -xvzf fog_1.1.0.tar.gz
cd fog_1.1.0/bin
./installfog.sh

Everything installs and works as it should with no errors, just not capone. Please see the attached screen shots and let me know where I’m messing it up? Here are the errors in the apache2 logs:

What is so strange to me is what’s actually happening.

It happens sporadically it seems, but you’ve been able to replicate it twice in a row?

Oh, I’m good!
That’s why I’m so confused and frustrated. I know it works, so why not now?
Do you have a step-by-step from fresh Ubuntu install to working capone…just in case I’m a knucklehead and am forgetting to do something?

the best I could do is have you try to load the run.php from a real capone plugin in lib/plugins/capone/html/.

You could do this with:
wget -O /var/www/fog/lib/plugins/capone/html/run.php http://sourceforge.net/p/freeghost/code/1419/tree/trunk/packages/web/management/plugins/capone/run.php?format=raw
Hopefully this helps.

So the Capone page now loads and functions. Thank you for figuring this out for me! I imported all of my images from the .32 fog into the new 1.1.0, and when deploying and image I receive the “Not a Partclone Image” error. I’ve checked the Legacy flag in settings, and changed the image back to partimage and still get the error. What am I missing? Please see the attached screen shots.

Thank You!

I think I know what’s wrong here.

I may need to send another option back to the init to give the “legacy” flag enabling factor.

It’d probably be best, for now, if you download the image to a machine (that you register ONLY ONE THOUGH), re-upload it so it is in partclone format.

Update…Capone works great! Added all of the tools and utilities with the custom menu from .32 into the new installation. Everything works great! The techs really appreciate the speed boost with ipxe. Thank you Tom and jbsclm for directing me on how to get everything working!! I really appreciate all of you hard work!

I had a go on my failing system today, when I rename run.php to something else I get the problem back, i.e. no options for capone.
I’ve tried clearing the browser cache, on both Firefox on the server and ie8 on xp, and it makes no difference.
My home system is fine, I’ll try building a new one and see if I can reproduce the problem.
