PAGE FAILED TO LOAD- Joining domain

[LEFT][COLOR=#333333][FONT=verdana]So I’ve built an image up for deployment, I sysprep it then deploy using FOG. [/FONT][/COLOR][/LEFT]
[LEFT][COLOR=#333333][FONT=verdana]The image works perfectly, however once I join the PC to the domain, I get this error:[/FONT][/COLOR][/LEFT]
[LEFT][COLOR=#333333][FONT=verdana]“The page failed to load”, on every section- Control panel, printers faxes etc. Even in my computer the icons for C:\ etc are all missing. [/FONT][/COLOR][/LEFT]
[LEFT][COLOR=#333333][FONT=verdana]It’s a very strange problem. If you log back on as the local admin the problem dissapears? There isn’t much info about this on the net?[/FONT][/COLOR][/LEFT]
[LEFT][COLOR=#333333][FONT=verdana]What’s strange is that it doesn’t happen if I install a machine from scratch win 7 x64 then join to domain, no problem… I think maybe the issue is caused somewhere during the sysprep process… Maybe it’s something to do with the unattend xml where it has the local admin account details… So strange. .[/FONT][/COLOR][/LEFT]

Did you select the copy profile to = true in your Build of the XML file ?

Which pass of the XML does this go into? I don’t think I did… what component is it?

Under specialize - amd64_Microsoft_Windows_Shell-Setup_neutral
you will see there is a option to setup Copy profile to true

Yes copy profile was set to true… this is a very annoying problem!I will tomorrow install fresh win 7, put in audit mode, then generalize/sysprep and upload to fog, deploy then join to domain and see if problem exists. If not then likely something is wrong with my unattend. I will try another fresh install /upload /deploy it but with the unattend xml, if the problem re-occurs then it is definatly the xml. At which point I will build a new one from scratch and test again… This is painful… whatever the problem is I will post it up once figured out, unless someone else suggests the problem first!

i always reccomend a installation from scratch , because sometimes there are issues you not aware of until you actually do the sysprep and run windows after the sysprep, i would also reccomend you build your XML file again and then test, im pretty sure it will work after that…

Ok figured it out a little while ago, just thought I’d post it up. You wouldn’t guess, or at least I did. Last night scouring the web I found a mention that some third party software can cause a problem.
So one of the first things I tested was a program I used to change the startup sound… Stupid mistake! I was going to change it back anyway… but seems this was the culprit… Stay away from dogey little programs like that, although most would say, “I would have anyway!”- what an annoying problem to resolve though… oh well on with the rebuild…

You bet! Rebuild is 95% done, tested and working spot on, tested today on few diff machines, all good! Will have to do a write up on how I do drivers because it works perfectly, but was fairly time consuming to figure out…
Time to go home…
