@Cello You can schedule tasks (e.g. deploy) not only as an instant job but also as re-occurring by selecting the option “Schedule cron-style”.

If you register the hosts you want to deloy to you can schedule the task as cron-style, FOG will send a WOL packet to wake it up and do the deployment without the need to enter a password.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

        Hello Sebastian

ok, did i get that right? I have the computers started and synchronized every morning using the scheduler. When an employee arrives, he can boot the image directly from the hard drive and no longer has to synchronize. Is that correct?

Why can’t I synchronize the computer and then immediately boot from the hard disk? The menu always appears and I then have to select the option to start again.

I imagine that the computer synchronizes by default and then starts immediately from the hard drive.

        Would that be possible???

        thanks
        Marcel

@cello It sounds like you are trying to create a non-persistent virtual machine where the computer boots clean everyday (i.e. VMWare Horizon like). FOG really isn’t designed for that purpose.

Is it possible to do this with FOG? Yes/No. A lot depends on what target operating systems you want to netboot and what you are licensed for. If you want to do this with linux, yes you can reconfigure fog to do this, no problem. If you want to do with MS Windows, its a bit more complicated both on ensuing your boot imaged is being patched and what windows licenses you need to purchase to be compliant with Microsoft.

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

Which menu do you mean? The FOG boot menu has a default option to chainload the OS from disk, pretty much what you want from what I understand.
