Hi !

Sorry for my english, I’m french.

My problem is to scheduled a task. None works. I just want to wake up a host with the WOL.
The WOL works fine when I launch it directcly

So I see thus 2 threads :

• http://fogproject.org/forum/posts/8409/

I test this :
http://10.67.1.27/fog/service/Pre_Stage1.php?mac=24:be:05:19:1a:64

And the answer is :
No job was found for MAC Address: 24:be:05:19:1a:64

However this appears in the Scheduled Tasks Menu
Thu, 18 Oct 2012 16:28:00 +0200 Wake up No CZC236023Z

In the database fog the scheduled tasks appears too and the stActive colums is 1. It change to 0 after the time the tasks is schedulded.

Any ideas ?

Regards

Franck

I use WOL, it works intermittently.

It’s just a problem with WOL being un reliable.

I manage the wake up and shut down of my machines everyday with WOL and to my experience, a lot of the problems that I face are the end user manually powering down the unit and not the software/OS.

I’d be for figuring out how to make this work better.

Hi,

i can definitely say this is no WOL problem technically.
I’ve tested this much times, and i know that machines have to be shutdown propperly.

I don’t know how often i need to explain that again.

WOL always works if i use the advanced task wake up.
If i schedule a task the machines never wake-up, if i try to wake up them over advanced tasks after the scheduled tasks hasn’t worked, the machines wakeup propperly!

Something on FOG wents wrong, this is no WOL issue no no and no.

I have the same issue, not so much in what I’m trying to schedule a task to do, but task scheduling in general.

If I schedule a task, it shows in the scheduler, but it won’t execute at time I specify. I think I’ve narrowed down the problem but I’m not entirely sure how to fix it as my linux skills aren’t exactly the greatest when it comes to the CLI. I want to see if you guys can corroborate my findings. On the FOG home screen, take a look at the timestamp on your bandwidth monitor. It’s currently 8:46 in the AM and my monitor say 13:46. If I look in my host OS, the time is correct. The time is correct on my work station. The only place it’s not is in FOG itself which, I believe, why my scheduled tasks aren’t working the way they’re supposed to.

So do you guys see the same thing? If so, then what do?

Hi,

no my times are all correct…
If the scheduled time arrives my task went from scheduled to active and after (i never stopped the time) 3-5 minutes the jobs are gone. I think this is normal because i can bet there is a timeout that will kill the scheduled task if they could not be started.

Why will no one skilled help us with this or maybe giving tips howto search or debug that?

i schedule tasks directly into the database. it never works from the web ui.

WOL only works with me if the computers we shut down via windows shutdown. If they have been powered down by pulling the cord or holding the power button down for 3 seconds, WOL doesnt work for me.
