We are currently seeing an issue when trying to register/inventory and deploy images to any Surface Book 2 machines. Using the compatible ethernet adapter for the Surface books, we got past any PXE booting issues and get to the FOG menu just fine. However, once selecting the inventory and register option (full or quick), it gets hung up at the “starting eth0 interface and waiting for link to come up” stage.

      FOG Version is 1.5.4
      Kernel just updated to 4.18.3

In our environment, we’re only seeing the issue on these new Surface Book 2s, that I know of.

      Any suggestions/assistance is appreciated.

@jlad00 Have you searched the forum yet. There is a ton of threads about Surface devices having those kind of an issue. I am fairly sure you will find the right threads.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG
