How do I FOG my FOG server?

I just installed a new fog server and it’s the way I want it. Is there a way I can boot to a cd and create an image of it?
Obviously, I can’t pxe boot to itself…

What’s your end goal here? I understand making a duplicate of it, but how many duplicates do you need and what are you going to do with the duplicates once they are created?
Without knowing the details, I would say probably for a physical FOG server, clonezilla would work for that.

or a VM snapshot/checkpoint if it’s in a VM. I concur with what @george1421 said, clonezilla is the correct way to take an image of a fog server.

I have two possible situations (which I won’t know exactly which one I’ll be dealing with till next week).

I will only have one FOG server, and just need a way to restore the fog server in case of drive failure. (Not VM’s. Also, I would’ve liked to have just one solution, you know, to not have to include a different software package)

I will have dozens of fog servers that need to take the image of the master one. These will be in the same campus but on different subnets.

@greventlv Typically all you need to backup is your database and images. You can always rebuild the fog server if those two things are backed up. There’s no need for a full image.

I also haven’t used FOG in a few years, and I remember it being more like a networked Ghost, but it seems like it’s a little past that goal?

I know that’s something that I can do, but I have a bunch of other stuff on the server and during production breakdowns, it would be a lot faster to hit a few buttons and get everything back to the original state without having to deal with a new install, restore and etc.

Then really you should build a fog server in a VM and just snapshot it. That’s literally ‘a single button click’ to restore from a past state.
