    Unsolved printer installs for only one user account

      I’m not so sure this is a fog issue, but wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this.

      FOG does all of our printer installs, but recently I’ve seen a few PCs that only get the printer installed for one user then once user two logs in FOG removes the printers and then doesn’t reinstall them. I can manually install the printers fine but thats not a solution for public use computer.

        Because the first one says ‘already exists’ but we don’t see the same message on the others, meaning they were not there already. This is strange. Asking @Joe-Schmitt to look at it.

        Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

              Here is the log from a newly reloaded PC. Our first user logged in and all the printers pushed by FOG were there. 2nd user logged in (end of the log file) and the printers are missing, but after sitting for about 15 minutes they show up again.

                @scott-b Can you post a chunk of the c:\fog.log file showing where it adds the printer, and then where it removes it when a 2nd person logs in please?

                Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

                        Not sure how that’s possible since the FOG Client installs printers based on what computer it is, and not what user is logged in. Are you using any group policy at all for printers too?

                          All the computers in question should have gotten our generic sysprep image which does use copyprofile in the unattend.xml.

                          The printers are configured in fog as network printers so basically a unc path to the printer.

                            It depends on what kind of user account is used and the kind of printer port.

                            For example, on our shared devices we have a roaming mandatory profile that is locally stored.

                            The profile was built with a place holder printer device using LPT1: then sysprep COPYPROFILE, then changed to a mandatory profile.

                            Changing the printer’s port and driver from an administrative account propagates to all profiles.

                            Using a print server and group policy it can get easier and trickier at the same time.
