PXE boot to Harddrive returns rEFInd - About
-
I am running the latest working branch “Running Version 64 SVN Revision: 6079” pulled this AM. I have my machines set to PXE boot in the bios. On my newest batch of Alienware desktops after imaging every boot returns the rEFInd - about screen if it attempts to HD boot. I have tried all the options under “Host EFI Exit Type” Any other suggestions? All my other systems seem to still be working fine.

@damonledet Sorry this has been unanswered for so long.
Can you please give us some more information on what hardware exactly this happens? There surely are UEFI implementations not playing by the rules. Maybe we can help but I can’t promise anything yet.

The machines giving me trouble are Dell Alienware aurora r6 running bios version 1.0.8. I have a bunch of other Alienware aurora r6 running bios version 1.0.3 which have been working great with FOG. I am also in contact with dell regarding this bios revision (1.0.8).

@damonledet Would it be possible to downgrade to 1.0.3?
Have you tried exit style
EXIT
? What happens when using that? Pleas take a picture or video and post here. -
@sebastian-roth With exit style of “exit” I get Chainloading Failed, with the exit type set to system default (REFIND_EFI) or manually setting it to REFIND_EFI I get the attached screen shot

@damonledet Are you able to deploy to those machines? This would mean that iPXE is able to hand over to the Linux Kernel…

@damonledet Any news on this?
