Customize Partimage GUI
-
Hi all,
Now that FOG’s website has had a complete re-vamp and looks very sleek, i was just wondering whether the partimage GUI can be customized or an alternative can be used, as it is looking very dated and would be nice to add/remove the info it displays etc… this may be my lack of knowledge on linux tools but i thought i’d just throw it out there to see the views of others and whether anyone’s attempted it?

Me thinks some letters and/or words are missing from the previous post…

Feel free to make it so Lee I would like some spinning email icons with flames if possible.
See strong bad for some help: http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail51.html

it does indeed! i’ve had a quick flick through the sourcecode and can’t see where or how it compiles the gui for partimage, it uses something called glade? i don’t suppose it’s something you could work your magic on is it blackout?

If someone can assist with images and throw out some suggestions as to how they would like the UI/workflow I may be able to get something working in a few days.

hey networkguy,
if you want - i can try and get some images done (will probably get it to follow the same style as the new web GUI) do you reckon you could get the GUI loaded once the init/bzimage is loaded? if so, we could get it looking really nice!! this would be a fantastic contribution to FOG!!!
pm me with what you need and i’ll get cracking on it.

one is based off of rhel the other ubuntu so it won’t be as easy as getting those images into the init/bzimage as both os’s handle splash/init a bit differently but I’ve taken apart init enough times and am fairly familiar with ubuntu so I think I should be able to marry the two without too much of a headache and in the end we can/will have a usb/cd bootable image that can come in handy aside from loading via pxe.
