Hi, i have some several issues (this thread: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/8323/several-problems-with-surface-pro-4)

Had that problem with the dark screen too. I’ve used the bootfile ipxe7156.efi then the problem with the dark screen disappeard. (still have other problems, but i think you should give it a try 🙂 )

@ecicerkofski and @jhuesser As well please use the forum search. We have been through many Surface devices in the past.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG

          Hello @jhuesser, @Sebastian-Roth, @Developers;

Thank you for your help with this 🙂 unfortunately the issue still persists 😞
I have set my bootfile to ipxie.efi

Here are pictures of the process:
          alt text
          alt text
No errors come up when it goes through the PXE boot then to the FOG image menu
After selecting Perform Full Host… or Quick Image to select a image we have created; the screen goes black
(However, the image I select works with Surface Pro 3’s)

Let me know if you have any other ideas or if someone else can help 🙂
          Thank you!!!

@ecicerkofski You can review this thread: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/8323/several-problems-with-surface-pro-4

The OP there [ @jhuesser ] had success with the ipxe boot file ipxe7156.efi Please set your dhcp option 67 {boot-file} to that and try again.

Also what version of FOG are you using?

              Hello @george1421,

Yeah I tired that and it didn’t even go past the PXE boot. just said “>>Start PXE over IPv4” then windows powered on as normal

The version of FOG we are using is 7645 (I think)… not too sure where on the log in I can find the version.
If you can directly me, then that will be great 🙂

              Thank youuu

@ecicerkofski When you login to the web gui, look at the cloud there should be numbers on or around the cloud. I would upgrade to the latest build 1.3.0-rc8 to ensure that your surface pro works. In the other thread the OP was able to image the surface pro.

I needed to register the host manually and set the has_usb_nic=1 option in the host settings, try this after updating fog.

                    Hello @george1421

So then the version is “7645” as it is in the cloud 🙂

@ecicerkofski Then my recommendation is to update to 1.3.0-rc8. Its the same process as you used to install/upgrade the trunk version. 7645 should work, but it is a thousand or so commits behind current.

The second part (once you get updated) is to follow jhuesser guidance.

                        Hello @george1421
Will you be able to let me know anything else I can do other than update FOG?

                        Thank you 🙂

@ecicerkofski You can do as you please, but we are a community of volunteers, and the Developers have already taken the time to put in place what’s needed for Surface Pros to work in the latest FOG Release Candidate. We will be more than willing to assist once you’re on RC-8. We’re also willing to assist with helping you get to RC-8. Generally this works for existing setups:
