Can't update kernel

We have two FOG servers, one I’m able to add new kernels by downloading them and copying them to the kernel directory by using WinSCP and logging in under the ROOT user. I’m unable to do this on the second server, the credentials I use for the ROOT user on server one don’t work on server 2 and the account I am able to login gets a Permission denied error when I try to copy the file. Is there a way to change the ROOT user password so I can get in? Thank you

If you have lost root’s password on the second server, then the server is lost if you did not create a backup admin account for that server. You will need to rebuild the server and reinstall FOG.
Beyond that with the downloading of the kernels. What version of FOG are you using and does your FOG server have direct access to the internet or is it behind a web proxy server?

@swaldow While this is true, you can probably still salvage the entire DB and the images. NFS is open and you can mount the /images directory from another machine - and you should be able to access the web interface to do an export.

Have you tried using sudo to copy using the second account?
