Hi i recently upgraded to fog 7152 from 7116? (ish) and when I try to deploy an image I get an error I’ve never gotten before. Its on a machine that has been imaged with the same image and same server before. Also, when I upgraded I didn’t get the prompt in the webui to install/update my database schema

      fog 7152
      Ubunutu 14.04 LTS
Windows 7 pro 32b (OS of the image)

      Error Says:
      Attempting to expand/fill partitions…failed
      An error has been detected
Fatal error: could not recreate main partition (/bin/fog.download)
      Args passed:
Computer will reboot in 1 minute

Any help is appreciated, thank you for your time.

While I suspect this may be a bug, What’s the model of the target host?
Also, can you post what’s inside of /images/<image name>/d1.partitions and /images/<image name>/d1.minimum.partitions please?

@Wayne-Workman the model is an HP 4000 Small Form Factor. I opened the requested folders and the d1.partitions does not exist. just rec.img.000 and sys.img.000

@Tom-Elliott does my response to Wayne Work for your Question as well? Also, we just recently transferred the images to a new server with a new mounted HDD, but the images have worked since then.

Hopefully this is now fixed and can fix another thread with a very similar issue. Of course test and report anything so I can try to make sure things absolutely good to go.

@Tom-Elliott Sorry to be bearer of bad news, I have just updated to 7162 and am still experiencing a similar problem with older style images. ‘Fatal error: could not remove old main partition(/bin/fog.download).’

@Adam-Grieger Is this image a 2 partition image? Meaning it has recovery and main? What’s output of ls -lhart /images/<relevantImage>.

@Tom-Elliott Just tested with 7164 and still have the same error. Yes, it is a 2 partition image. Output is as follows:

                            -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16M Sep 29 2015 rec.img.000
                            drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4.0K Sep 29 2015 .
                            -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 28G Sep 29 2015 sys.img.000
                            drwxrwxrwx 9 root root 4.0K Jan 30 11:09 …

Not sure if this screenshot helps at all:

@Adam-Grieger do me a favor. Start the image as debug. Run through the command line fog

When it fails and you’re back at prompt run fdisk -l /dev/sda and put out put here.
