            Using the exact same AD settings in FOG? Maybe special characters in the hostname?

                @danilopinotti Do I remember right, you are using Samba 4 AD? Any errors in samba.log?? Maybe increase samba log level and try with working client, then non working client and compare logs!

                Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

                  @danilopinotti Did you find anything in the samba logs yet?

                        @danilopinotti Are you aware that you do not need to use fogcrypt with the new fog client? You type your password into the regular password field (not the legacy field) as plain text.

                        In FOG Configuration -> FOG Settings -> AD Defaults you will find the regular password field and a spot for username and domain name. Once you set these, inside of Host Management -> [Host] -> Active Directory you will find a checkbox to fill in the information for you from the global defaults.

                        Maybe we need a video on setting up Active Directory?

                          @danilopinotti I have noticed that if this is an existing host in fog already, if the Active Directory settings were already applied, both of the passwords will not be in the host. You have to de-select active directory/update/recheck active directory. Then, both password fields will be populated.

                            @Scott-Adams What?

                            The password fields should be populated with whatever is associated with the active directory defaults. They will only be added to these fields (and others as well) if the join AD flag is enabled during the registration process.

                              @Tom-Elliott Wanted to clarify what @Scott-Adams was saying for future readers.

                              If you have a host that is pre-existing in FOG, and you then set AD defaults, those don’t automatically get applied to already-existing hosts. If you want to re-set or re-assign or update AD settings on pre-existing hosts enmass, use groups to do it.
