I just got done setting up a storage node at the house so I can thoroughly test out the aspects of it.

I have to say I had difficulty with getting the FOG_STORAGENODE_MYSQLPASS to stay as clear text.

I ended up having to click on the “eye”, and drag off of the eye so my mouse-up action didn’t happen on the eye for the password to stay clear text.

This password is needed for a FOG Storage node installation.

I’m using a chromebook to access the web interface, so I’m using the chrome web browser.

Is anyone else having the same issue? I think this should be made easier since this field is specifically pointed to during installation, and copy/paste is the answer for getting it.

@Wayne-Workman while a nuisance I kind of did this on purpose. Why? Because it is a password that can be used to login to the db and has permissions to edit the fog database. That said I did display the field again.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Tom-Elliott Does a storage node need write access to the DB?

@Wayne-Workman yes. This is because the Storage Nodes can also be responsible for the “Checking in/Completion” of tasks.
