      Hello,

I have a problem with booting on Ipxe, the error message is : “”/default.ipxe… No such file or directory (http://ipxe.org/2d12603b)" . I want to change the HDD (because it makes noises and it creates bugs) and deploy an installation on it. Strangely, when i change the HDD i get the message error above but when i put the old HDD back, I can boot on iPXE with the FOG menu.

      What can be the problem?

      Thanks in advance,

      Bünyamin

Maybe this is of help to you: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/4973/default-ipxe-connection-timeout-on-dell-only

Although I find it really confusing that it seams to (not) work when changing the hard disk. I can’t see a connection there!

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Thank you but i don’t have the same issue…
Yes me too, I don’t think it’s linked to the HDD but this operation attracted my attention

Now I see, “No such file or directory”. So please check if you have /tftpboot/default.ipxe on your FOG server. It’s a simple textfile. Check it out. If it’s there check permissions and try this troubleshooting guide: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_TFTP

This sounds an awful lot like there may be another DHCP server doling out addresses within the scope of the network you’re trying to boot to fog in. I don’t think the HDD has any connection either as it’s not even loaded at that point (where you’re seeing the failure). Unless the HDD is passing some firmware and adjusting settings into the BIOS when it’s being turned on, which I don’t think is possible after initial POST goes through.

                    Hello,

I had this message yesterday, the file default.ipxe was not present in /tftpboot (I changed the content of my /tftpboot), I just recreated it with the older one and it was ok

                    Perhaps it will help you

Thanks for your reply, but default.ipxe is present in my Fog server … You think it’s better if i recreate a /tftpboot directory and i transfer all the files of the old one ?

@Bcetinkaya You need to read the file, make sure the IP that’s listed in the file is pointing at the proper place.

But can you download it using tftp client from another machine?? Why should iPXE say “No such file or directory” if it is there!? Please follow the troubleshoting guide and let us know if all the steps work.

                              Hello,

All the machines have this message error, I tried on 4-5 machines … I followed the troubleshooting guide, all the steps work but I still have the message error. I don’t understand why … The message error talks about a non-existent file that i have on the server.

Could you please take a picture of the error screen. Sometimes it’s somewhere in the details and we just cannot find the needle in the stack by asking questions.
