No network interface found
-
Hello,
I tried to deploy a image to a old Optiplex 760 from Dell and got the error “No network interface found”.
Is this a driver error or what can I do? Deployed another PC from HP a minute before I tried to image this one, so network configuration is correct.

@middendorf is this occurring on all 760s or just this one system?

@middendorf Which version of FOG do you use? See in the cloud on the webGUI.
Optiplex 760 have been reported to work in 2014 already: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=WorkingDevices

I am using version 6032.
I only have this one model here for the moment to test it.

@middendorf I tried to find out which network interface card is build into those 760s. Dell says it’s Intel 825xx Gigabit (not exactly sure which) but others tell me it’s Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5761. Both should work with our current kernels I’d say. Can you please check which NIC exactly you have in your machine and tell us.
Maybe you can disable the onboard NIC in BIOS and put in a PCI card for testing.

Okay, it worked after several tries, I think the DHCP server was to slow to offer an address or so.
Thanks!

@middendorf bad patch cable… loose connection… or something like that I’m guessing.
