I’m trying to image a machine. Once the image is complete when you try to boot from the hard disk it there is just a blank screen. I thought it might be an issue with the computer, but I put the image of what the machine used to be, and it works. That lead me to believe it was an issue with the image file itself, but I have put that same image on multiple different machines. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like an MBR issue with your image.

Yes and I have seen where BIOS settings and Kernel versions can complicate this situation.

So I’m guessing there is no easy fix to it?

Yes try the simple stuff mentioned above. On some cheaper hardware we have (OLPC or VIA chipsets) I have had to use really old boot kernels to get things to work. Some were in the area of FOG Kernel ID 1025 or so.

What is the image type? Single or Multi-partition?

The image is a single partition so it can be re-sized

To rule out the resizing as a problem, try re-uploading the image as a Multi-Partition Single Disk image.

Please report back if the Multi-Partition image boots correctly after deployment.
