Prompted to update Database Schema when I try to access Fog Management
-
Hi All,
First, I’d like to preface this by saying I’m fairly new to the Ubuntu/Fog scene.
Yesterday, I downloaded and installed Fog on a Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop virtual machine. The install completed successfully and I could access the management page. Today however, I tried to access the management page and was met with the page that prompts you to “install/update” the database during the initial install. Obviously, clicking this button now displays errors. What do I need to do so I can access the normal management page again? I’m really looking forward to trying Fog out.

What version of FOG did you install? Did you run an update at some point?
Please check you error logs (/var/log/apache2/error.log and /var/log/mysql.err)…

I installed the Fog 1.2.0 and I didn’t update it at all.
I’m getting the error “Couldn’t fetch mysqli in /var/www/fog/lib/db/mysql.class.php” a lot in the logs.

This worked! You are awesome! Thank you! Will I need to add the “sleep 30 && start mysql” to the rc.local file as well?

I’d recommend it. Ubuntu starts services before network is “really” ready. This method is just a workaround, but seems to fix the issues for subsequent restarts as well.
