NFS options?
-
Hi,
We have a possible problem with NFS, so we would like to review an possibly tweak the NFS option fog nodes use to mount the image storage servers.
Does anyone know what the default options are and where to change them?
-
Um details. We need details.
-
details: fog 1.2, debian 7 server.
The problem is with imaging performance, not operational, so we would like to try tweaking NFS mount options.
There are no fatal errors to report from logs -
Upload performance? Most likely the compression is your bottleneck. See here: http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/slow-uploading-and-downloading.12583/
If you still want to tweak NFS options, look into /etc/exports on the server. Tweaking NFS client options is a lot more trouble. Please come back again if you need help with that too.

Nah, imaging performance. I know how to set server options, I’m very specifically interested in client options.
What are the defaults? Where are they set?
Is UDP or TCP used? wsize? rsize? -
mount -o nolock,proto=tcp,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,intr,noatime set in fog.checkin of the init.xz file

See here on how to edit your initrd: http://www.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Modifying_the_Init_Image
