Unsolved Remove "Uploaded by batch import on" Message?
-
I was wondering if there was any way to remove the text that is added to the description for each host that gets via CSV file? Seems like it should be a simple configuration but I can’t find where.

This deletes the contents in the description field and is non-reversible unless you have a DB backup. This is done via CLI on the fog server. I am fairly sure it will work on 1.2.0 but I’m not positive. I wrote this command for FOG Trunk. Even if it didn’t work, with a little looking around it can be modified with the correct field names.
mysql use fog UPDATE hosts SET hostDesc = NULL WHERE hostDesc IS NOT NULL;

If this is just deleting the descriptions, I don’t think I can use this then as I actually do have stuff in each of the descriptions that I want to keep. That’s the main reason I want to get rid of the message in the first place. I inconveniently adds it to the end of each of the descriptions. If that’s not what your script does then please correct me.

The @Developers might have reasons for marking a host as imported by batch. But perhaps they can make the message that gets added an option in the settings instead of making it mandatory.I’m not sure if it’s possible to remove just that line from the descriptions other than doing it manually, Especially if the import is already completed. Someone else might have an idea, but I’m out of ideas.

Maybe the syntax:
UPDATE hosts SET hostDesc=REPLACE(hostDesc,'Uploaded by batch import on %','');
