group->ist all group->defaul->basic task->multicast->crete multi-cast
is this right way to do multicasting?
used to be under task management.
The clients must be in a group, and then you’d pick basic task, multicast, create multicast. So I think you’re doing it correctly.

upload seems to be working ok .
what I need is to download existing images to the group of 10 machine.
I can get to image management->list all images-> pick a image-> and bottom of the screen see :the selection box below will add this image to the selected hosts automatically" and select multiple host.
is this how I do multicast download??
Thanks for you help! -
ok, I am getting close…
now hosts are stuck on “Please wait…”
i tried these but same issue.
sudo service FOGMulticastManager stop
sudo killall udp-sender
sudo killall udp-sender
sudo killall udp-sender
sudo service FOGMulticastManager start -
Are your images marked as partimage, or are they partclone ? Older FOG used partimage, I believe. New FOG uses partclone, but still supports partimage.
When you get this going, you should look at converting all your old images to the new format (deploy image, then just take the image again).
You’re trying to multicast… Lets see if an individual unicastt download works, first???

Check the permissions on your /images directory. It should be owned by Fog, and Fog should have rwx permissions. See this for info on permissions: http://fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_FTP#Permissions
Also make sure

I apologize… that might only be there for the newer developmental releases…
if you click on an image itself, on the left, it should show the image type. And there might even be an option somewhere in 1.2.0 settings to let you support older image formats… not sure… I’ve never used 1.2.0 in production. I use the developmental releases only, because Tom made a change in them to allow FOG to work in my environment.
