My core switch (Layer 3) is a Netgear GSM7328FS and my building (layer 2) switches are netgear GS748TP. The Two computers I am trying are Dell OptiPlex 520, 745. I have 755, 750, 960, and 990 as well but have not tested it on the new stuff yet as they are the smaller groups. Yes we do have STP enabled on the switches.

Do you have the ability to disable STP?

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Honestly that is a really good question, I will need to think about that one.

My vendor just suggested that if I turned off our STP (RSTP) my network would almost immediately fall apart, we have a large mess of a network. Are their other options?

If I am not mistaken in Netgear land that’s what they call Fast Link I think, which is disabled on all ports on all switches.

Next thing I believe is try to enable portfast, at least on the fog machine and the hosts you’re imaging initially at least, to see if that helps out.

Having a similar issue. Just upgraded from .32 to 1.1.2 and am receiving the tftp files not found

Edit: Note that everything worked prior to the upgrade

I have gone ahead and enabled portfast on all involved ports. No luck yet, I may just move the Fog server physically to my tech workshop at this point which has a private network with Cisco equipment. It would be beneficial to image across our network as we are a 14 building campus and my level 1 tech has to carry around a collection of thumb drives with all the different images we have. However I don’t think I will give up yet, does anyone have a good step by step guide for start to finish install of Linux and fog, the one I was using seams to be out of date and a lot of steps where missing.

                            Here is your probable issue.

If you could, please disable STP on the switch(es) between the fog server and the client. Then try a network boot using undionly.kpxe as your option 67.

Did not realize a /tftpboot.old file would be created with the upgrade
