Database Schema Installer / Updater 1.1.1 never finish
-
So I started out with Umbutu 12 and Fog 1.1.1 the other day and the installs went great but I could never get my desktops to load the PXE menu. After hours of back and forth my spicework buddies said Umbutu 12 was known to have some issues and suggested I go up to 14.4 Not being a linux guy sence Suse 6 I said why not and this morning did a fresh 14.4 install that went great then installed Fog 1.1.1 al default options. I was just getting ready to log in and configure FOG but can’t get past the web screen that says “Database Schema Installer / Updater”
I have gone back into /var/www/fog/commons/config.php and added my password as well as in /opt/fog/service/etc/config.php then restarted both apache2 and a full server restart with no change in my issue. Any ideas?fogsettings.jpg

Ok no responses and I don’t see a clear solution so I am trying a re install of FOG. That has gotten me back to my problem of the PXE not booting to the menu that I was fighting with back on Umbutu 12.

fog is working correctly on both Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 12.04
I personally run Ubuntu 12.04 LTS -

What other steps, besides just posting blindly, have you tried?

I try to get to every post as quickly as I can, but 2 hours is fast for any forum. Yes, sometimes I’m faster, sometimes I’m slower, sorry I have work to do. Bugs to fix, accounts to reset, etc…
I hope you understand.

Oh please don’t here my post as a complaint, heck the level of support is amazing. Especially for a product that only cost me in time not money. So far I am amazed with it and the possibilities and a 2 hour or less response time is flat out amazing, heck I don’t get that fast of a response from people I pay. I will pull those logs together just will take me a bit of time as I say I have been away from linux for a long long time and other than the commands I use for my VoIP system I have forgotten much.

I have the appache2 error log but the darn file is to big to post.
-
we’ll only need the tail end of it
sudo tail -100f /var/log/apache2/error.log -
the address I see again and again 10.6.10.4 is my desktop I am at running putty from to manage the umputu server.

Alright,
The things I’m seeing from the log from Ubuntu are indicative that you’re running an svn version of FOG? Does this sound correct? In the Cloud from the FOG Logo what numbers are on the right side?
-
FOG 1.1.1
Umbutu 14.04
Sorry not sure what svn means -
Well, you’re in luck.
I’m going to recommend you to use it.
svn co https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freeghost/code/trunk
cd trunk/bin
sudo ./installfog.sh
-
Cool done this is their anything more I need to change?
-
You shouldn’t need to change anything, just check your schema and see if you can now login to FOG. Also maybe you can actually get to booting clients.
-
I can still log into the Fog web interface bot no change on the desktop side, still have the same error I see it gets an address from my DHCP server no problem but then tell me it cant start the download operation not supported.
