      Hello everybody

I would like to know how to activate the WakeOnLAN (WoL) function in FOG. What else has to be installed so that the FOG server can wake up the clients. I have already activated WoL in the BIOS on the clients.

      Many thanks for your help.

@cello WoL should be enabled on the FOG server by default. The problem/trouble with WoL is usually on the windows side. Windows 10 turns off this feature most of the time. To have a clean test to confirm FOG is working remove the power plug from a test computer, count to 10, then reconnect the power. Unless the target computer boots right away the computer will be in ACPI power state G3 (powered off state). WoL should work from this state from FOG since windows 10 has not booted yet.

Understand this is not the intent you want, but first step is to confirm that WoL is working from FOG so you can eliminate that from your problem list.

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

          Hello George

I found the mistake. With the DELL Optiplex 7080 the option “Deep Sleep” has to be deactivated in the BIOS settings. Then the WakOnLan function works from FOG very well.

          Thanks and best regards

          Marcel

Oh and of course the WoL function has to be activated in the bios, but that should be clear to everyone.
