Clone Image Without LAN Port
-
Hi, I don’t know if the topic already exists but I searched and couldn’t find it.
Now there are many laptops that do not have a LAN port and this prevents cloning with FOG.
Is there an option to be able to clone my image on laptops without a LAN port?
Thanks for the help

What I mean is using an image captured with FOG but displaying it with Clonzilla. It’s possible?
No capture the image with clonezilla and deploy it. If you don’t have a clonezilla image, deploy with fog and have fog power off the computer after imaging. Then boot from clonezilla usb and capture image. Not clean but without a network port you are a bit stuck.

Yes with clonezilla.
Other options if you want to do with FOG are using usb nics compatible with your mobile devices uefi firmware. Typically these are nics sold by your mobile device manufacturer.
Another option is to not pxe boot but usb boot into iPXE menu. In this case you can use a generic usb NIC adapter that is supported by both iPXE and FOS Linux.
Last option is again to use a generic USB nic and bypass iPXE and some features and usb boot FOS Linux right away.

@george1421 I find the option to do it with Clonezilla interesting, do you have any link where I can see how to do it?

Use clonezilla to clone to a local USB hard drive. That way you use no networking at all. This is standard clonezilla functions.

How can I put this answer as a solution and close this thread?
