      Hello,

When i installed the latest stable FOG I was unable to image older HP DC7800’s It would throw an error

I remembered this happened on the previous version of FOG stable and had to go back to an older kernel. Doing this with the latest version also solved it but maybe there is a way to use the latest kernel and add a switch? I just don’t know how.

@Fog_Newb For this host, if its been resisted in FOG already, go into the host definition for this computer and add in the following into the kernel parameter field acpi=off See if that corrects the misbehavior of the acpi code in bios.

Thank you. We have many of these hosts. I will go back to the latest kernel and try adding that switch when I go in to work next.

Is there a way to add that switch to all dc7800s when registering?

There is a hack I created to makes something like a persistent group setting. (In fog it has groups but they are one time set groups, all members in the group will get then value when you press the OK button) The persistent group plugin allows you to create a host template and then a host is added to that group the template is applied to the host.

Either use groups as suggested by George or add it to the global settings: FOG Configuration -> FOG Settings -> General Settings -> KERNEL ARGS (not sure if this would cause trouble for other hosts as we don’t know all the other hardware you have)

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)
