Boot emtpy VM to PXE for deployment
-
I have created a fog server, made a Windows 7 image and deployed it to a physical station. I now want to test that to a VM but when I try to boot to ‘Legacy Network Adapter’, all I get is "Boot failure. Reboot and select proper device’. I was hoping that the VM would PXE boot and I would select the Windows 7 image I deployed to a physical machine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It sounds like your VM handler doesn’t know how to boot off PXE. I had to fiddle with VBox some to find the right NIC settings, but I was able to PXE boot VBox eventually. If your physical boxes can do it, FOG would seem to be up and functional.

I agree. PXE booting a virtual machine is the same as pxe booting a physical box.
@mstumpo what hypervisor are you using?

What VM software are you using?
