Limit FOG image download speed
-
Hey All,
I know that in FOG you can limit the amount of sessions you have going simultaneously, but I curious if there is a way that regardless of the clients you have (50 or 2), it will only ever push half of a 1 Gbps link during download or upload? I have a site that is across a 1Gbps link and all internet traffic and phone traffic goes across it as well. I want to at most limit that to 500Mbps if possible. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,

This is not currently possible. You could limit it on a per host basis through the ethtool utility I believe. That or the main interface of the fog server (ideally this) could be limited.

@chris-whiteley I think this is possible, here are some things I found while searching:

Thanks for your help! I will try the wondershare tool to see if I can limit it.

@chris-whiteley Why not just put a fog storage node on the other side of the link. Then you wouldn’t run the risk of over committing your WAN. You can define a specific replication bandwidth. That IS something that fog can manage. You could even use an older dual core desktop computer as a FOG storage node. FOG Servers don’t need a lot of resources.
