@tombagley ignoring a mac in fogs webif just ignores it for the specific host not the whole system!

    • RE: Duplicate USB NIC Mac Addresses

@waynejitehead i simply remove the usb nics mac after deployment because it does not belong to the system, this way new hosts with same usb nics mac will propperl recognized.

    • RE: WOL ? Computer boot/start alone

@steuve68 and in the end it was the online check from fog activating that computers, like i told you 😉 I still have the ping check enabled i solved my problems around that with hibernating off und pattern match in nic drivers disabled.

    • RE: WOL ? Computer boot/start alone

@steuve68 can you please try to use “powercfg -h off” from one of the problematic computers? will they still turn on? You will need an evaluated cmd prompt to do this.

    • RE: WOL ? Computer boot/start alone

      Hi,

these are not wol pakets, i know that problem very well.
There are nics outside supporting the feature “wake up on pattern match” that means a simply ping can wake a windows system.

This happens because fog pings all known hosts to check if they are online.

Check the nic driver in your task manager i will bet you will find an option like that.

      Bild Text

If that option is enabled try to deactivate it.

I suggest to change the way the server is detecting if the clients are online. @tom-elliott @Wayne-Workman @george1421 @joe-schmitt

    • RE: Active Directory Join Failing

@tom-elliott from what i can say is that with some RC something changed regarding to host settings, one day i mentioned that the password for domain join was empty. After filling it again it won’t be shown as encrypted. Afai remember in the past it was shown encrypted regardsless it was entered plain or not.

I don’t know if this is related to that problem but after i filled our ad password again it was working like expected even when not showed encrypted in the webif.

    • RE: All fog services turning off on hosts after reimage.

      Hi,

something additional, today i registered a host, enabled domain join and a snapin like i always do. deployed the image and was wondering why the host hasn’t joined the domain. After checking the hosts settings i could see that joining domain wasn’t saved for this host. enabled it again and the host joined the domain and rebooted.

I don’t know if this is related but i have the feeling it could.

    • RE: All fog services turning off on hosts after reimage.

      Hi,

i also have seen this behaviour, i cannot say exactly with or since which version this happened.
But i can remember that i deployed a client and i was wondering that the task wasn’t finished as expected.

After head scratching i could see that all the services where not enabled (normally they are active by default).
