RE: Dell Optiplex 740 will image to about 18%, stop imaging then try to boot WINDOWS 7
We had issues on the 740s as well with fog .32. Before we had to leave the computers on bios version 1.1.3 and use a specific kernel. I don’t remember exactly which one but now that we are on fog 1.0 it doesn’t seem to matter for the kernel. I haven’t tried with an updated bios yet.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I re-installed fog today, but I have run into an issue. I had exported the host before uninstalling and when I try to import them back it gives me an error that a Host with this MAC Address already exists. I checked the database and it was empty. I performed a full registration on one of the host that was in the list and it was successful. I tried the import again thinking it might need one in before but it still didn’t work.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
Is there a way to make them auto enabled as a template and we can disable them for the devices that we don’t want to change?
Or maybe group control settings?
This is what I was asking. I don’t mind all the granular control. I just wanted to know if it could be enabled by default instead of disabled. I believe in .32 it was enabled by default because I don’t remember having to turn them on every time.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I don’t know what you mean? What services are you referring to? Are you referring to the FOG Client Services (e.g. Printer Manager, Client Updater, User cleanup, Directory Cleaner, etc…)?
I am referring to the Client Services. I have them enabled on the server and enabled on the Fog Client software. But when I register and image a new host they are disabled under that host service settings. It won’t rename, join AD, install snapins or printers. Once I enable it on the host it all goes. Just wondering if I could eliminate the extra step of enabling it on that hosts page?

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
Is there a way to turn on services when a host is registered?

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I haven’t removed any location. I updated earlier today. I just now updated again to version 1415 and I am still having an issue. Also when I try to image it boots up to partclone and then exits without imaging.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
That is what I had changed it to but it was still giving me an error. You are correct I do have the LocationPlugin enabled.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
Tom,
I am getting an error when searching for a host. I thought it might be a typo with the getClassd but when I changed that it to match line 79 it still didn’t work.Search failed: Invalid JSON:

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I was doing some more testing on snapins this AM and noticed a few things.
I am still having an issue with group deploy of all snapins. It states Snapins Are already deployed to this host. If I deploy the snapin another way successfully then try it again it creates the task.
I tried to do a quick deploy of snapins to a group and it didn’t create the snapin task. The single snapin didn’t have an option to select which one.
A quick deploy of all snapins for a host worked fine, but the quick deploy of single snapin did all snapins.
I tried group single deploy and it had the drop down which successfully worked.
I cancelled single deploy and all deploy active task for both host and group deploy which also removed the snapin task. It wasn’t working before. Also was able to cancel a single snapin from a deploy all snapins with out issue.

7.) What do you mean one deployed right away, while the other just sat there? You mean you setup two systems to deploy a single snapin and one deployed right away, while the other just sat there? Was the one that deployed “right away” logged in and the other no user logged in?
I see what you are saying about a user being logged in. And yes two separate computers, same plugin, one deployed right away the other didn’t. I believe that there was a user logged in at the time that I tried to deploy the snapin. There was at the beginning of my testing. When I check the log on the computer itself it shows that a user was logged on when I initially set it up. That user logged out about 20 min after that then another user logged in for about a hour.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
Once again Tom, thanks for all your help.
I was testing the snapin issues I was having on the latest version (1252) this morning thought I would share my results.
-
When I deploy an image on a computer it creates the snapin task as well. But when I tried to image the computer and see if everything worked I got the message in iPXE: fog/kernel/bzimage… No such file or directory (http://ipxe.org/2d0c613b)
-
When I tried to register a new computer the menu came up, selected full registration. Then it went to blank screen with blinking cursor.
-
I no longer get an error message when selecting a group to deploy all snapins but they only show in Active task and don’t actually deploy. Screenshots attached.
-
When using group to deploy single snapin I didn’t have a choice on which snapin. It also does not show anything in the snapin task.
-
When deploying all snapins on a single computer it would show in both Active task and Snapin task but I waited about a hour and it didn’t deploy.
-
When deploying all snapins to a second computer it would remove the Snapin task from the first computer. Screenshots attached.
-
When deploying a single snapin to a computer it shows in both Active and Snapin tasks. One deployed right away then tried another it sat there for over a hour with out deploying.
-
When deploying a single snapin to a second computer it states that the Snapin is already setup for tasking. Screenshot included.
Also when trying to created a group from the group management page I got the following errors. It did create the group.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/fog/lib/pages/GroupManagementPage.class.php on line 239

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I looked at the file and decided that its better left to the professionals. Also Im in no rush just wanted you to be aware. I don’t believe the snapins are getting installed. I have attached two pics of what I am seeing. Its been a little over a hour and nothing has changed.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
Just tired to deploy all snapins on computers that were in the group a machine at a time and noticed that it was creating the active task but not the snapin task kind of like the single snapin deploy before. When I tried to see if I could do single snapin it was also giving me the message: Snapin is already setup for tasking.
-
RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
When I try to deploy snapins to a group it will work for the first computer but fail for the other computers stating: Snapin is already setup for tasking.
Also in regards to post 951, I now have the location plugin installed/setup and I am still getting the issue.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I found another error when trying to deploy image. Image still deploys correctly but I get this:
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /var/www/fog/lib/fog/Host.class.php on line 839
Also thank you for all your help and hard work on this.

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I don’t have it enabled should I? Only have one location for images.
Also noticed another warning when I click on storage management then storage node. Only have one. It has the message above side menu:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in/var/www/fog/lib/fog/SubMenu.class.php on line 107
-
RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
Now when I try and deploy snapins I get the error
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /var/www/fog/lib/fog/Host.class.php on line 595

RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
I think I found a bug with single snap-in.
When I try to deploy a single snap-in it shows up in active task and active snap-in task. Then I try to deploy another snap-in with single snap-in option it shows both in active task and only the last one in active snap-in task.
