The only reason is because i am lasy, i was just trying to find out what is wrong. I can of course reinstall the server with a newer version of Uuntu. … This reply did not help me much…

RE: Fog menu on version 1.2.0
In older versions i had a manual.gz, and a custom Default file in /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg.
The main reason for this was to make it easy for Teachers on our Schools to image clients without register them in fog.
is it possible to do the same with Ipxe?I tryed to do this by ipxe but didnt get it right, my defalut file looks like this:
DEFAULT vesamenu.c32
MENU TITLE FOG Computer Cloning Solution
MENU BACKGROUND fog/bg.png
MENU MASTER PASSWD $somepass/
menu color title 1;36;44 #ffffffff #3BB9FF stdLABEL fog.local
localboot 0
MENU DEFAULT
MENU LABEL Boot from hard disk
TEXT HELP
Boot from the local hard drive.
If you are unsure, select this option.

RE: Fog menu on version 1.2.0
Thank you Wolf It is up and running now! Awesome.
-
RE: Fog menu on version 1.2.0
I am really not a Linux person, so i downloaded Fog from the sourceforge page, V1.2.0.
And i cannot see the ipxe menu, i can see that Wolfbane are running the 1.3.0 version, so how do i upgrade? -
RE: Fog menu on version 1.2.0
If i go to Fog Configuration i have no ipxe men, but i have the pxe boot menu.
ubuntu-12.04.5-server-i386.
Fog 1.2.0 installed by using the install script (best practice) -
Fog menu on version 1.2.0
I hope someone can help me with this problem.
In older versions it is simple to make a imaging solution woithout the registration module…
In earlier versions have moified the pxe menu so that i can choose a spesific image without host registration, in version 1.2 the folder structure for /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg has changed. Does anybody know where i can change the menu in V 1.2 ?

RE: FOG 0.33b Now Considered Release Candidate

-
RE: FOG 0.33b Now Considered Release Candidate
I have done the additional install, when i run http://fogserver/fog/management, it asks me to open a file, so it is not running the fog config guide.

RE: Lenovo Edge E540
Awesome Tom It works!
And one more thing, the pxe boot is much faster than earlyer

RE: Lenovo Edge E540
As Albatros suggests, you can try my kernel.
I’m assuming you’re running FOG 0.32. To install the kernel run these commands as root on your fog server:
cd /tftpboot/fog/kernel
mv bzImage bzImage.orig.2014APR01
wget -O bzImage --no-check-certificate https://mastacontrola.com/fogboot/kernel/bzImage32

Thank you so much Tom i am very grateful , so i just have to run this command to install kernel on my Fog server ? -
Lenovo Edge E540
I am struggling with a lenovo Edge E540 series.
When i pxe boot the Edge i got an error saying 4.258303 drm:intel_dp_det_link_trsin err timed out waiting for dp. i am shure the nic is compatible with most imaging systems (when pxe boot with winpe it works fine) I tried the fog compability check but the error came befor i got so far.
The newest fog kernel is one year old so maybe this is the reason, i am running Kernel - 3.8.8 Core.
Aqny suggestions ?

RE: Windows 7 Deployment FOG- SAD2 Driver tool
Thank you very much for this guide, the sad tool works perfect in our environment.
I am stuck with one problem, our new laptops have some display drivers that are not included in the driver packs, so my idea was to add these drivers to the 7zip archive under mobile display drivers, but it doesnt work.
The laptop models is a Fujitsu lh 532 with both nvidia 620 and Intel 300 driver, and a lenovo Lh530 with Intel 3000 display driver. -
RE: Windows 7 Deployment FOG- SAD2 Driver tool
Nice feature In other words, how does the actual deploy method work?
Policy ? or does the package dploy with pxe boot?
I am whery curious about the agent, and the resources it uses on our clients.
The main reason that i have not considered the agent is that we have bad experience with this sort of agents, we where running Novel Zenworks before fog, and the agent from novel kille about 50% of our computers esepessially those with 1 gb ram or less. -
RE: Windows 7 Deployment FOG- SAD2 Driver tool
Nice Guide!
It is possible to use netdom to join domain in win7 also, so any other good reason to install the fog service, than the join domain functionality? To use netdom you have to install the windows 7 admin tool, but it is pretty simple to install. -
RE: Capone plugin
You can customize the pxe menu, and use the manual.gz, here is an example of a default pxe file i have:
LABEL T520
kernel fog/kernel/bzImage
append initrd=fog/images/manual.gz root=/dev/ram0 rw ramdisk_size=127000 ip=dhcp dns=10.9.1.32 type=down img=t520 ftp=10.9.2.8 storage=10.9.2.8:/images/ web=10.9.2.8/fog/ osid=5 imgType=mps shutdown= loglevel=4 fdrive=
MENU LABEL T520
TEXT HELP
Image of Lenovo T520
ENDTEXTLABEL d531
kernel fog/kernel/bzImage
append initrd=fog/images/manual.gz root=/dev/ram0 rw ramdisk_size=127000 ip=dhcp dns=10.9.0.32 type=down img=d531 ftp=10.9.2.8 storage=10.9.2.8:/images/ web=10.9.2.8/fog/ osid=5 imgType=mps shutdown= loglevel=4 fdrive=
MENU LABEL D531
TEXT HELP
Image of Dell 531
ENDTEXTYou have to download the manual.gz and put it in the tftpboot directory together with the init.gz file, second you have to have memtest downloaded to the tftpboot folder, it takes a bit time, but it works like a charm! If you want i can provide you with memtest and manual.gz file, just send me a message. You can also add more things to the pxe menu like windows pe, pe is nice because it is free end with imagex you can edit your base images, just edit and upload to fog later:)
-
RE: Application to open Fog images
What i have done is to add winpe to the pxe menu in fog. So when i have made my base image i boot up in windows pe, and save image as an wim file with imagex, and wim files is easy to edit, you have to have a computer with Waik installed thats all!

RE: FOG 0.33 - What's coming?
Thank you guys i have imaged about 4000 computers with fog and it works!
