Deleted /images/dev
Re: Accidentaly Deleted /Images/Dev
Actually /images still there but the /dev that came after it is gone. I saw Wayne Workman’s 10 line repair from 2017 and typed it in but still no go. I get the stall at “Running post init scripts” after the pix connection. Is there supposed to be an actual script entered at <SCRIPTNAME>? If so, where do I find it? The /images/dev/postinitscripts/fog.postinit path is there. I looked at fog.postinit in nano and there was nothing there. A linux savy friend had me enter:
#!/bin/bash
#. ${postinitpath}fog.postinitbut we both think there ought to be something else for <SCRIPTNAME>
I put a space between "#! and /bin/bash originally which may explain why the file was empty. I went back and tried to re-enter the first echo line and now it returns:
-bash: !/bin/bash: event not found
It’s a mess. I would appreciate any help?

RE: Dell XPS 17
Excuse me for jumnping on the tail end of this thread. I have a new Dell 3080 that doesn’t seem to run in ahci mode. I’ve called dell and the initial response is that they are moving away from ahci and these PCs may not run without raid (on). I am using 1.4.4 with 5.10.19 kernel. Is there a work around?

Dell optiplex 3080
Not a problem now but thought I’d share. Got a new batch of Dell Optiplex 3080 PCs (3-1-2021). We always use these and I have been using Fog for years to image them. The 3080 would not connect with pix. Using 1.4.4 with 4.1.1 kernel. Updated to 5.10.19 kernel but still nothing. Change windows DHCP 67 ‘bootfile name’ from undionly.kpxe to ipxe.efi and all good. Old Dells still need undionly.
