Also, .ps1 (powershell) scripts will work if you have a system script policy of unrestricted
run with “powershell”
run with arguments “-File”

in the script, don’t forget everything must have a full path by default!

Do you see the iPXE setup screen appear? It should, since you were able to deploy an image earlier, but can you confirm that you see it saying something like (N.B. This is for a system without a task scheduled)

Depending on how much or little of this you see we might be able to narrow down where the problem is.

i’m guessing that something is blocking the client from communicating with the fog server, then. perhaps they are only allowed to communicate with web services when people are logged in? firewall, or network authentication issues perhaps?

If you enter Audit mode and intend to sysprep, you can make all the changes you need. Then before running the sysprep command, you can upload the image to the Fog server and keep it safe and use it as a “back up” in case you need to revert to a point before you ran the generalize command.

A better solution is to build the image virtually and use snapshots and revert that way.

Either way, you will be able to make a back up before using the generalize command.

I only recommend using the skip re-arm when you are learning to set up your unattend.xml file. But then again using a snapshot, or keeping a back up on the fog server would also negate the need to skip re-arm.

Thank you, I was able to get it. TFTP is not enabled by default in Windows 7. We aren’t using our Fog server for DHCP, so I just had to enable tftp and it worked.

If you are going to deploy to them then they need to be part of a domain, and you will need to have at least some sort of shared storage that groups of them will have access to. Otherwise there is no way to get the data from point A to point B.
