This is what is filling the apache logs:

I restarted my FOG machine and now Apache won’t start I get the below error on the command line:

      mj@fog-server:/opt/trunk/bin$ sudo service apache2 start

      • Starting web server apache2 *
      • The apache2 configtest failed.
        Output of config test was:
AH00526: Syntax error on line 12 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/001-fog.conf:
SSLCertificateFile: file ‘/var/www/fog/management/other/ssl/srvpublic.crt’ does not exist or is empty
        Action ‘configtest’ failed.
The Apache error log may have more information.

      Going to the logs now.

I have checked all the passwords and the exports file. Everything is set to the same password and the exports file is pointing to the correct folder.

I check the permissions on the external drives folders and everything seems to be set correctly on that.

It has to be something with the way the external drive is set up, it is like FOG can’t see it.

So, I did all that and nothing changed. I still have nothing showing in Disk Information and When I try to Download an image it tells me I have to upload an image first.

Should I change the “storagelocation=” in the .fogsettings to match my new location?

Okay, formatted external Drive as ext4. Copied over all images, leaving originals in /images. Made sure the image path in the Storage Node pointed at the new images folder on the external drive. Ran both commands below:

      sudo chmod -R 777 /media/mj/FOGImages
      sudo touch /media/mj/FOGImages/images/{,dev/} .mntcheck

Disk info in FOG shows NaN% for free and used space and when I try and schedule a Download it gives me the “You need to create an image first” error message.

Is there a permission or anything I need to add, like on the media folder? Let me know if you need more information.

Hmm… I am thinking I should have reformatted this external Drive. It is formatted with NTFS and the chmod isn’t taking.

Okay, so I went for it and when you change the images path in the Storage Node it changes the Image path for the images. Now I just need to make sure the permissions are correct and that images can be uploaded and downloaded to the new location.

I was thinking something like that too, but when I look at the images only the name of the image in image path is editable. The “/images/” doesn’t appear to be modifiable unless that changes when I change the info in the Node.

    • Moving Images and changing image location

I have been running FOG on an old Laptop and it doesn’t have much space. I have recently obtained a 1 TB external Drive. I cannot find a process for moving the images from the local HD to the external and telling FOG to look there for images as well as saving new images there.

I searched the Wiki and found the explanation of Storage Nodes, but it doesn’t really give steps for moving your Main Storage Node from /images to another location.

Anybody have steps to do this?

Per a chat with Tom, here is a picture of the output of fdisk -l from my Test system in Debug Mode, with one of the non-functioning Images tied to it.

    • Question about Audit Mode

Okay so I have a base image that I use for all of the systems at my work place. I have been using an older version of VMWare Workstation, but recently moved everything to Workstation 11.

This requires that I install a new version of VMWare tools, which requires a reboot. After the reboot I now get the “You are not running a genuine Windows” message in the bottom right corner of the Windows Desktop. It doesn’t appear to be causing me any issues yet.

My question is when installing programs that require a reboot does the reboot use up my rearms if I am not running sysprep and just rebooting back into Audit Mode. I do not make any selections in the sysprep screen, just reboot from the Start menu.

So I created a new image in FOG and am uploading my Generic Windows 7 VM to that new Image. This is the same image I have uploaded in the past without issue. Not sure yet if the new image will work or not but the upload screen had some errors that I haven’t seen in the past and they appear to relate to the errors I am seeing during download.

5 out of 6 images corrupt? Doesn’t seem right to me.

I tried reformatting the drive in my test machine and the issue still persists. I have backups of my images I am going to try and restore them and see if that changes anything.

      This is sda1:

      20150522_085556.png

The machine I am using has had all of the images on it at one point, it is my test machine. I was going through the forums and these error messages are the same that people going from .32 to 1.x.x get, but obviously that is not the issue here.

Does FOG do any formatting of the Drive it is imaging too? It just occured to me that the only image that is working is the last one uploaded to the test machine before these failures happened. Maybe I should get in there and completely format the drive.

    • Issues imaging systems

I am on Ubuntu 14.04 and FOG version 3463 and It appears I can upload new images to FOG, but I cannot Download images to systems. I have checked the permissions on /images and nothing has changed recently, but now when I try Downloading an image to the machine I get the below errors:

      20150522_083028.png
      20150522_083040.png

These images were made when on version 1.2.0. I do have one image, which was made on 1.2.0 as well, but from a RAIDed system. I am able to upload that image, but since it is missing Drivers for non-RAID boot devices Windows Doesn’t load. The only difference I see between this image and the others, beside the size, is that in /images this image is compressed and the others are not.

It is possible that I restored these images from a backup last week when I redid the FOG machine. In case that is the issue, other than copying the images back into the folder and verifying permissions should I have done anything else?
