Print Management problems?posted in FOG Problems
I having trouble with print management. fog.log says that it has been added but it doesn’t appear on device and printers.
Am I missing something?The inf file comes from the server itself its a shared folder that i can see from windows.

@joe-schmitt Okay thank you. I saw On Demand shutdown but in previous times it wouldnt do that. Do I have to reset encryption data before or after doing an ondemand shutdown or even snapins

@tom-elliott Yeah that want I thought but it never does it, It has only happened maybe a few time that i’ve tried it but majority of the time it doesn’t work. I make sure to do the reset encryption data button before doing it but still nothing

FOG Client sometimes doesn't workposted in FOG Problems
Okay so sometimes the FOG Client works because I am able to install Snapins with no issue but then I try to perform a remote restart with Power Management, I check the box the says perform immediately and select reboot but for some reason it never performs it after submitting it.
Do I have to install the client individually on each computer because right now I just have it inbedded on the image itself. When I deploy the image the host that receives it will already have FOG Client installed. Could that be the issue? -

@george1421 Yeah i just tried a deployment on the switch where the fog server is connected and im getting 8GB/min
I just gonna have to wait for the upgrade that we are getting, for now I’m gonna just register the host and use the snapins. Multicast and cloning will have to wait until later this year. Thank you so much guys -

My core switches are 1gbps. And my classroom switch are 100mbps. That’s the bottle neck. Can’t do nothing about it until I get my upgrades later this year. -

Image compression. Capture and deploymentposted in General
Okay so my question is about compression. The slider on fog goes from 0-9. I understand that putting the slider all the way to 9 will create the smallest image size. So does that mean when I deploy it, it will be a lot faster?

@george1421 good thing I was about to spend some money on more ram and better cpus.
Yes I’m running 2 SAS Drives. 15K rpm they are in raid 0 so speeds on the drive themselves should be really good. We just upgraded our core switches but our computer lab switches are 3560 so bit old. I thinking that’s the bottle neck.
I’m not at the office right now, but you can give me the commands and i will try them when I’m back.

Hardware upgrades for serverposted in General
Do you guys recommend any hardware upgrade for my server. It’s pretty old Dell PE 2950 Gen II
Two 1.6ghz quad core cpus, 4gb of ram.
Do you guys think upgrading the ram and cpu will have any effect on upload and download speeds?
Could installing a 10GB Nic on the PCIE make it faster.
I’m getting around 1.7 gbits per minute right now I would like to be around 4-5 gbits -

@sebastian-roth yes the client is installed but I figured it out. I had to the reset the encryption data before doing the snapin deployment. Solved

@tom-elliott I was able to edit the file size by modify the php.ini. What does it mean when the task just says “Checked In” but doesnt deploy the Snap in?

Can't create a New Snapinposted in FOG Problems
I am trying to create a snap new snapin.
I fill out the information
Then I click add and it uploads the MSI but the it never adds it. It just refreshes the page and says “A Snapin Name is Required” at the very top.
What am I doing wrong? I’m new to the FOG scene just got my server working yesterday. -

@tom-elliott Working, it was PHP. I had PHP 5.4 so i uninstalled it and install 5.6 and restarted apache2 and it gave me the webpage and was able to install/ update schema. THank you so much for the help guys!
