      @Wayne-Workman Ok I got in but when I follow these instructions:
      Next, we will mount to FOG’s remote image directories like this:

      mount -o nolock,proto=tcp,rsize=32768,intr,noatime $storage /images
      mount -o nolock,proto=tcp,rsize=32768,intr,noatime 10.0.0.3:/images/dev/ /images/dev

      I am getting an error " mount: mounting 10.1.0.227:/volume1/FOG/Images/dev/ on /images failed: invalid argument

    • RE: Switching NAS servers

      @Wayne-Workman I just did that and still getting the same error message. Maybe it still thinks I am trying to give the old Synology box those rights? Is there a way to check if in Linux, the IP address is the right Synology box?

      @Wayne-Workman I did that and that file is not showing up on my Synology server. I am not sure if this is what is causing my issue but I am still getting that error message. I am not sure what I did wrong

      @Wayne-Workman I feel like I am back to the beginning where you guys helped me fix this a few months ago. I still am getting the same error or fatal error failed to mount NFS volume. I followed some things on the wiki page but maybe I am missing something. Any thoughts? I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that the .mntcheck is not on the new synology box but I can’t figure out how to get it there.

      @Wayne-Workman haha yea I was hoping to just change the IP address and it would work. But I just updated the GIT and still getting the same issue.

      @Wayne-Workman old image.PNG

      It fails with this error. And I checked the file path and it should be good. I didn’t have to change that as that was the same for both synology boxes.

      @Wayne-Workman Ok I was wondering why my svn wasn’t working. I am going to update using git right now and let you know how that goes. And thank you, no need to apologize at all.

      I appreciate all the help!

    • RE: Switching NAS servers

      @Wayne-Workman There is no NFS setting in the storage node settings. Just IP address unless that setting is somewhere else

      @ch3i Absolutely, the images will show the storage space node, my configuration to the NAS storage and the image that is on the old storage node that it shouldn’t see anymore

      @ch3i Thats exactly what I did and it still sees the information from the old synology box and hasn’t updated the storage space either

      @ch3i The new Synology box has a new IP address, the rest seems to be the same as I tried to match the settings

    • Switching NAS servers

      Good morning,

      I worked with you guys to get my fog server up and running on a Synology box a month or two ago and thank you so much. My school district has purchased a new Synology box strictly for the FOG server and I would like to swap the storage. I wasn’t sure if since the names are the same if I deleted the old one the FOG server will just pick everything up naturally or if I had to do something to get it to recognize the new Synology box. The NAS server does have a different IP address so I wasn’t sure what had to be done.

      Thank you for any help you can offer and just so you are aware and for those who remember, my company now sees that everything works fine and is willing to work with you guys to make sure everything runs smoothly!

      @Wayne-Workman First I want to apologize, I know you guys have worked hard to help me out and I could never repay you for all the help you have given so thank you very much. My company finally decided to work with me and we got it working in one building. They enabled direct broadcasts on both passports and now it is working fine. No one ever informed me that we had two passports which is fantastic. We are going to cleanup the switches and continue testing but seems like we may have figured it out, thanks to you guys!

      @Wayne-Workman said:

      @szecca1 Better yet, see if you can get in touch with a Nortel person and see what they say about it. Or search their website for information.

      I think you are saying that FOG requires that broadcasts be allowed to travel across the router to other VLANs.
      This makes no sense - and even if it could be done - would not be advisable.
      That’s what I’m being told, does this sound correct?

    • RE: Wake on LAN over different VLANS

      @Wayne-Workman With this situation and me not being the network admin, my company would probably prefer me going directly to them first and then if possible calling Nortel. I will definitely keep you guys updated.
