    • RE: Fatal Error: Failed to mount NFS volume

Just so everyone knows, I called Synology and we got it working. The problem was that on the Synology the NFS Permissions had to be changed. Squash had to be no mapping and the host IP address was changed to *. Once this was done, upload started right away.

I want to thank everyone for your help. Really appreciate it!

    • RE: Wake on LAN over different VLANS

@Wayne-Workman First I want to apologize, I know you guys have worked hard to help me out and I could never repay you for all the help you have given so thank you very much. My company finally decided to work with me and we got it working in one building. They enabled direct broadcasts on both passports and now it is working fine. No one ever informed me that we had two passports which is fantastic. We are going to cleanup the switches and continue testing but seems like we may have figured it out, thanks to you guys!

@Wayne-Workman This is how I run the updates every time as per my conversation with Tom a few weeks ago:
      cd /home/fog/svn/trunk
      svn up
      cd bin
      ./installfog.sh -y

@george1421 Where is this conflict that you’re seeing?
We just turned off the fog server and the IP address is no longer pingable which means there is no conflict with IPs.

@Wayne-Workman Can you guys trust me when I tell you it is not a duplicate IP address. No server, IP camera, UPS, switch or any of those things has been added to cause this problem. We do not configure any of our devices to be unpingable because that would make the devices less managable. I can assure you this is not a duplicate IP issue

    • RE: Fog server keeps going down

@Tom-Elliott I agree this doesn’t make any sense. I wish I was making this up but in the end, I have no access to the server during the time that it is down until I tell vSphere to just reboot the VM. The console on vSphere is not able to commuincate and basically has the same result as when I try to use putty to remote in.
I can already tell you that my boss will not allow that, although I really do appreciate the offer. In a school district that would be too high of a security risk, unfortunately. Thank you though!

@Wayne-Workman As far as my boss is telling me, nothing has changed over the past two weeks with VMWare. Right now fog is working perfectly and will keep an eye out. I may not see an issue until monday where it’ll have two days to error or or whatever it is doing. Only then will I truly know if something is still wrong

@Wayne-Workman You tell me. I am relying on you guys as I am still learning this. I can let it go and see if the issue is resolved or comes back over the next few days.

@Wayne-Workman If thats what you guys are recommending me do then fine I can do that. But what OS should I use? I don’t want to use Fedora and then have someone else tell me I should have used something else

    • RE: Fog server keeps going down

@george1421 The problem isn’t getting the new OS installed, I have a NAS that also needs to be attached that Tom spent some time with me to get set up properly. If it was that simple I wouldn’t have even bothered to worry about it. The install of the OS was fine for about 5 months and then randomly this issue started occurring.
