RE: Deploying Image to SSD
Ahhhhhhhh, ok so I feel kind of stupid, but I completely forgot someone just upgraded the ram on it before giving to me to test. After I put the original memory back in, all was well!!!

RE: Deploying Image to SSD
Tom suggested I update and recapture the image, so I did and I’m still having issues. The same image will install on the laptop with standard HDD and now I’m getting a weird error. See attached screenshot

RE: Deploying Image to SSD
fogpartinfo --list-parts /dev/sda shows the correct partitions and the device does have a label msdos. It copies /dev/sda1 correctly and starts copying /dev/sda2 and fails after 3 seconds and I don’t see an error or anything, just restarts.

RE: Moving/Migrating Image
I had to match the storage node username password with the fogsettings file

Deploying Image to SSD
Is there anything special I need to do in order to deploy an image to an ssd? I just swapped a drive on a laptop I was using to test deploying and everything was working great, but after swapping the drives the image will not deploy to SSD.
It fails after about 3 seconds after of syncing.
Any help will be very much appreciated!!!
Thanks,
James

RE: Moving/Migrating Image
Sorry, I’m new to fog, you we’re probably right, I was thinking something different.

RE: Moving/Migrating Image
Ah, sorry I’m new to fog, so I thought you could add a storage node using FTP or something, i dunno. I get it now thought, thanks I’ll check that out.

RE: Issue with Fog Server after running updates on Ubuntu 14.04
Use this fix, should permanently fix for what you’re describing:

RE: Moving/Migrating Image
Thanks, but I don’t think that’s actually related. I’m not actually deploying from FTP. I just used FTP to transfer an image between the 2 servers.

Moving/Migrating Image
Is there a way to move an image that has been uploaded to a different server without having to upload again?
Further explanation: I have created an image in my test environment that works perfectly on all the makes/models I need. I have now created a new server in production and created image object with all the same options. Then using FTP I transferred the image from “test server” to “production server” and changed to match ownership and permissions. Then I tried to create a deployment task and get the error “you must first upload an image to create deployment task”.
So again, my question is: is there anyways to use existing images on new server or move/migrate images between servers?
Thanks in Advance,
James
UPDATE: It actually works client-side using “quick image” or image after inventory, but won’t work through web interface. Is it possible to get that part working?

RE: New to Fog.... A little help with hostname changer and Join AD
I’ve triple-checked all those requirements and I’m still getting the ERROR: Required Domain Joining information is missing.
Fog service:
new client: checked
aes_encrypt: not checked
AD defaults:
domainname: tried domain.com and netbios
default ou: OU=Computers,DC=domain,DC=com
default user: tried domain\user and just user
default password: plaintext
default pw legacy: fogcryptIs there something I need to change in a config.php file or anything that I’m missing? Need to add netdom on the windows 7 pc?

RE: New to Fog.... A little help with hostname changer and Join AD
Were you receiving any errors when it fails or was it just failing? Wondering because I’m trying to figure out if I’m missing something in my configuration? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
