• Problem with Ubuntu image restore

      Hi,

I have FOG 1.0.1 running on Ubuntu 13.04 (Fresh Install).

Windows deployment is working perfectly fine.

I am facing a problem with Ubuntu image restoration. I have ubuntu with single ext3 partition and I have tried with default ubuntu install as well. Image upload and download is working perfectly fine with no errors. Raw image is working fine but it is taking much time. Once the Ubuntu image is restored with other image types, the system is keep on restarting without booting.

I spent almost 3 days and tried all the possible ways by searching the forums but no luck. I suspect the problem should be with the grub and not with fog. Can anyone please help to solve this issue.

      Thanks in advance.
Yes, there is a 64 bit version of the kernel, https://mastacontrola.com/fogboot/kernel/bzImage

You need to follow the instructions Tom has given you but this will allow you the 64 bit capabilities.
Hi James,

      The issue got fixed !
I am using fog 0.32 in Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit OS.

First I have tried with https://mastacontrola.com/fogboot/kernel/bzImage unfortunately it gave kernal panic error.
Later I have tried with https://mastacontrola.com/fogboot/kernel/bzImage32 It worked for me 🙂

I have tried with Dell 5440, 5420, 3450 and Lenovo L440 model laptops. Its working perfectly in all the laptops.
      Thank you for your support.:)
How did you download the file? Are you sure it’s using that kernel.

Make sure you’re using the right kernel properly:
      If using FOG 0.32
cd /tftpboot/fog/kernel
      mv bzImage bzImage.orig.2014APR01
      wget -O bzImage --no-check-certificate https://mastacontrola.com/fogboot/kernel/bzImage32

Hi Tom,

      This issue got fixed !

Now I can Register, Upload and Deploy images in Dell 5440, 5420, 3450 and Lenovo L440 model laptops with fog.
It worked perfectly fine for me with your kernel bzImage32.

Kudo’s for ur Kernal. Thank you for your great support 🙂

As Albatros stated in the other thread, I would try one of Tom’s Kernels, they tend to work for most computer models.
Okay Jaymes. I will follow up with that thread.

    • Fog : Problem with Dell V 3460 laptop

      Hi,

I am facing problem with Fog with Dell V 3460. With other model laptops FOG is working perfectly fine.

But with with Dell V3460 I am getting fog client when I boot through Network. But I couldn’t able to register host or image it.

I couldn’t even able to ping from fog client to server. I think the network card is not supporting the fog kernel.

Can some one help in this. It will be really helpful for me.
