Thanks for the kernel, but I keep getting permission denied when I try to copy it to tftpboot/fog/kernel folder.
I use winscp and log on to server with admin account.

The Service is running, but the config.ini in C:\program files(86)\fog\etc didn’t have the IP of the server.
After adding the IP to the config.ini, still the snap-in won’t work.

After Fog finishes uploading or downloading the image to or from a machine, the machine keeps rebooting in PXEboot rather than booting from Hard drive which is the first option in PXEboot menu.

is there a fix for this one?

I created a Snap in and uploaded it to Fog .32, the snap in runs ok of I manually run it on the machine.
but after I image a machine with snap in assigned to it, it never installs.
what is wrong?

I have setup Fog .32 with the default kernel which I believe should be the 3.2.4, then I ran into this issue with our Dell optiplex 780 machines not being able to PIXEboot.
I found out that Kernel 2.6.35.7KS is compatible with Dell 780, so I installed that Kernek over the top and 780 machines started to work.
But our Dell E6420 stopped working because they don’t like the kernel I put into the FOG.
My question is, what would someone in my situation do if they have different hardware?
should I install different FOG server with different kernel or I can have one server that will work with my hardwar?
I even looked at making custom kernel, but that was way too complicated for me since I have no knowladge of linux.

I don’t have anyproblem getting the DMI, and was able to add capone to PXEmenu too, but when I click on Capone in PXEMenu nothing happens.
this might be the next challange you might face.

I made up a password and typed it in as Master Password and the Capone showed up, but nothing happens when I select the capone in Pxe menu.
I assocciated the System Product Name to the Capone, but it won’t do anything in PXE menu.
any Idea?

Does Capone work with Fog .32?
I enabled the capone pluging , activated it, accossiated an image and DMI , copied the configuration text to PXEBoot menue and then saved it, but when I reboot the client machine, I can’t see no Capeone in PXE menue.
any one has ever faced this?

I have the same problem, except I’m not able to wake up any machine at all. Fog says the WOL packet sent to the host but host is still dead and doesn’t want to wake up.
Did you get the resolution for this?

In the manauls says that I need to make the follwing changes to the my.cnf file in mysql, but I can’t save the changes either through the terminla using sudo vi or gedit.

MySQL needs to be setup to accept connections from remote machines. This is not the default behaviour on many distros.
Check the file:
/etc/mysql/my.cnf
and look for the line beginning with:
bind-address=
This should read:
bind-address=<IP of FOG Server>
rather than:
bind-address=127.0.0.1 or bind-address=localhost
Remember to restart MySQL if you make changes to this file:
sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart

I had the same issue, after almost going bald pulling all of my hair, i figured that DHCP code 066 should have the ip address of my FOG server for String value.right after I changed the host name to ip address, it worked

I need to make a universal windows 7 64 bit image that will work on all of our dell pcs and alptops.
i’m looking a step-by-step proccess for that.
I read somewhere that we need to install fog service and the prepration on windows 7.
what are these for?
