    • no reboot after image, rename, add to AD

      I’ve noticed our workstations are not rebooting after they are imaged. Seems hit and miss. The fog.log show its wants to but doesn’t happen. After a manual the changes take effect. I’ve only tested this with Win10x32 PCs, SVN 7845.

      Another question, does the rename and adding to active directory take place at the same reboot or does FOG do a rename, reboot, add to AD, then reboot.

      We have printer installed enabled globally. Just to verify I did check the host to make sure it was enabled there as well and that printers were assigned to it.

      However it is not installing the printer nor the port. Found this on a Win10x64 and Win7x32 PC. Versions listed above on Ununtu 14.04.

      In the past when I have had this issue its always been the path to the driver was wrong or the driver itself was corrupt or not added correctly. Are you able to manually make a port and install a printer using all the information in the FOG configuration of the printer?

      Task reboot not working properly should now be fixed properly. There’s a slight issue in the new client where the call it get’s to “recheck” for tasking it it calls a different url. That url wasn’t returning any data. A Hotpatch has been made that should correct this for you.

      Thanks Tom!

      I saw the version info in the log, very helpful. Moving to SVN 7484 seems to correct the issue. The log is now nice and clean and the reboot (this joining AD) is working. Thanks @Developers !

      @Wayne-Workman said in After upgrade to trunk 7324, no settings available under FOG Configuration - FOG Settings:

      @Scott-B Ok I might have a fix for you…

      First, do a config export so you can go back if you want.
      Web Interface -> FOG Configuraton -> Configuration Save -> Export

      next,
      mysql
      use fog
      update globalSettings set settingDesc = '';

      What this does is it throws out all the descriptions, which is where all those slashes are being stored. It’s being caused by single quotes in the descriptions, basically.

      You won’t have descriptions anymore (until we can fix it) but it’s better than having broke fog settings right?

      Also, alerting @Tom-Elliott to this.

      Any way to do more of a search and destroy slashes in the description field? Some of our inventory info is in there and I cant have it missing.

      However, I am still having the issue where I cannot update any of the settings under FOG Settings using the Web UI. I can change other items with FOG Configuration (iPXE config, iPxe menu, etc). Just nothing under FOG Settings. In particular, I am trying to change the kernel I am using under the TFTP Server section. I make the changes, click save. I get the notification that the changes were stored successfully. However, none of the changes actually get made. Any thoughts?
