• RE: Unable to move /images/dev/macaddress to /images/name-of-image

I have the same issue on a Toshiba laptop.

This is what I have done.

on Laptop
Wiped and installed Windows7 64bit and office + updates + required apps.
ran disk clean up on c:\ - removed unwanted files
Installed as administrator Fog Client Service
rebooted
Installed Frog Prep
Edit Registry key to allow more than 3 sysprep’s
run sysprep with custom unattend.xml and shutdown computer.

Start task in FOG to upload image

Switch on laptop
Goes for about 5 mins then I get the unable to move /images/dev/mac_address to /images/imagename

on the fog server the folder with the mac address is created and a d1.mbr is present
there is no folder with the new image name.

tried different image names, tried the chown command to reset permissions, tried creating the image name folder, deleting folders task, images etc. Nothing works.

So to check permissions, I created a test image on Fog and assigned it to a computer I know worked before. carried out the same sequence as above and hey presto image upload starts perfectly???

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Excellent. Copying the file from pen drive to the \kernel folder proved to be a problem, but managed to resolve that. It took a while to load but full inventory of computer completed successfully and imaging the laptop now.

Really, really appreciate your help, don’t know how to thank you.

Brilliant.

Brilliant thank you so much for the help.
It reports
Network …[Fail]
Disk…[Pass]

It’s an Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller(NDIS 6.30) in the laptop. Which is slightly newer(?) than the one mentioned in this thread.

I tried update kernel via the FOG server and it never seems to do anything.

Will try what you suggested.

Thanks

• RE: Dell 2330 All in One Network issue

Hi all,
new to this, I unzipped the driver supplied and replaced it for the original bzImage file. Tried to boot to FOG and I still get the same problem. It’s a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50-A-15Q. It is an Atheros network card, any help really appreciated. Be gently and give detailed instructions as I am new to both Linux and FOG.

Thanks
