To resolve my problem I had to uninstall and re-install FOG.
I know that adding a user account and using it for FOG shouldn’t of caused this problem. Could running two different download task cause this problem?

I updated to the latest version on the kernel, is there another place to get updates for the init files? I did forget to mention that I added another user the fog server and had been using that username and password. Also, I have recently removed the ip address from the /etc/network/interfaces and the only thing in it now is:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
The network is configured with the gui network config.
I am thinking that I may need to uninstall and re-install to resolve the issue.
i do not have an answer to your question because i do not have enough information to answer it. if it worked before, and doesn’t work now, then something has changed. the “only thing” you’ve changed can’t be the advanced menu if you’re now getting this error. is this error showing up on all machines, or a subset of your machines? what type of task was scheduled that gave the error? what is the make/model of the computer(s) having the issue?
I am getting this error on all machines. The model of laptops that I am imaging are the Dell Latitudes E5430 and E5440. I am able to boot the pxe menu just fine but when I create a download task (for either machine) in fog then pxe boot the laptops I get this error. I have even tried download debug but I get the same error. I have not upgraded from a previous version and once I got the images uploaded and did a few test downloads I have not touched the config except to change the advanced menu. The task does create and I look at the task page and it shows download task but it does not run on the laptop to be imaged.
ok. but that still does not answer my question. what caused this and what would the fix be? i have been searching all over and still have not found a viable fix for this.
I am getting the following screen after my computer connects to the server to get the image. The only thing that I changed recently is the advanced menu. I turned the advanced menu off for now and I am still getting this error. What am I missing/not seeing. I am running FOG 1.2.0 in Ubuntu 12.04 pc.

Hello,
I am using FOG 1.2.0 on Elementary OS 0.2.1, which is built on Ubuntu 12.04 and I have the latest Tom Elliot kernels and FOG is using iPXE. I am trying to modify the PXE boot menu to add gparted and some other programs/ISOs but I am not able to. I have read all the forums telling me to edit /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default but I can’t because I don’t have the pxelinux.cfg folder. Do I need to create the folder and file or is there another place to make the changes to the pxe boot menu?
Thanks,
Reuben
When you Create A New Image within the Image Management, set image type to Multiple Partition Image - Single Disk (Not Resizable). This is my unattend.xml for Windows 7 Professional x86 and it does work with Dell Factory partition setup. What I did is registered the computer with the FOG server, booted the Dell factory install in win7, installed all the software I needed, put the unattend.xml in the C:\windows\system32\sysprep folder, syspreped, and started the image upload process.

I was able to resolve the issue I was having by creating a unattend.xml and using diskgenius on the Hiren’s BootCD. The diskgenius allowed me to see the empty space on the drive and it allowed the space to become unallocated. Once I did that I uploaded the image and then downloaded it to another computer with the same hardware without any problems.
I followed this guide, http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=1016213, to some degree. Plus I added the option to extend the OS partition and persistalldeviceinstalls.
Hope this helps someone else in the future.
Ok. Is there a way to fix the issue so that I can us the factory image with the recovery partition?
Yes. When I boot into Windows I am not given the option to extend the disk because it is seeing it as a 34.65gb hard drive. Even though, I can see 284.76gb capacity in disk managment.
Hello,
I am using FOG 1.2.0 on Elementary OS 0.2.1, which is built on Ubuntu 12.04 and I have the latest Tom Elliot kernels. I have FOG installed and it is working properly but I am having a problem when I capture and deploy an image FOG is resizing the hard drive. I know it is supposed to do that so that it can compress the image size but when I boot the master computer it has changed the OS Partition capacity size from 284.76GB to 34.65GB and the same thing happens when I boot an imaged computer. I am using two computers that have the same exact hardware. I have not been syspreping but I did run fogprep. I am trying to capture the hard drive as it comes from DELL and it has 3 partitons on it so, I had to capture the master image with Multiple Partition Image - Single Disk (Not Resizeable). Is there something that I am missing?
Thanks,
Reuben
