Before having the idea of the NFS sharing, my Departement Head increased the size of the disk (on esx) without powering down the machine (I was in school at that time) so now i canāt increase the partition size and i donāt know why ā¦ (as I said iām beginner).
EDIT: Anoter forum is actualy helping me, so I will not bother you with that ^^
Hi all,
My Fog disk server is full and i donāt have access to our storage servers, either on our esxi (iām in āsandwich courseā, donāt know if itās the right meaning ^^). So my ādepartement headā told me to mount a share on a basic PC, until he have time to deal.
Our users PC are still under Windows XPā¦ And I donāt find right tutorials to use one as NFS Server.
If somebody know how to help, Iāll thank him very much !
Sorry for my English and my limited knowledge
Thanks.
Anyone have an idea ?
@Sebastian-Roth
Hi Sebastian,
Yes the FOG_CHANGE_HOSTNAME_EARLY option is active.
And I tried all, with Win xp and Win10.
I think iām going to bring myself to use the fog client. ^^
Oh, my bad, thanks Wayne!
And iām still stuck for hostname changing, it doesnāt work and i donāt know what to do ^^

(Forgive me i am a beginner in the computer networking)
Iām using FOG 1.2.0 stable (by āfreshā I mean ānewā. Sorry I still have to improve my english ).
As described above, iām on 1.2.0.
80% have: 1 disk with 2 partitions
@Tom-Elliott
Nope, we used NewSID until now which was enough with xp.
Iāll try to sysprep a new image to test!
Thanks you.
Another question : is it possible to modify or delete a partition just before deployment? (But not modifying the master image).
@Tom-Elliott
Ok but it doesnāt work for meā¦
By default the hostname in our image is STATIONXXX, after deployment on for example: STATION001 (His name in HOST MANAGEMENT), it remains unchanged (STATIONXXX)ā¦
And how to make it working?
Itās not a native function?
Thanks guys for your quick responses!
Does it works with windows XP?
80% of our PCs are xp.

I will say though that Iāve deployed images on hardware 6+ years old (Win7 x64 compatible) and use the FOG client. It is extremely light weight and uses little to no resources.
Our Pcs are 9+ years old on windows xp, they will soon fall into coma ahah
Hello!
i have a new install of fog at work.
And i have some questions:
-Is there a way to change the clientās hostnames without using the fog client after deployment?
-And to change the driveās letter? (the CD/DVD always changes from F: to E:)
We have old computers with a lot of program that slow down their system, so i prefer to not use fog client.
Thanks !
! SOLVED !
I just changed the username-password:
Thanks you very much Sebastian.
@Sebastian-Roth
Hi Sebastian, iām working on it!
Thanks for your prompt answer!
I found a folder on /images/dev named /dev/001d093262c2
With 2 .img inside (like the 2 partitions of the image)
I renamed this folder āfetexpā (itās his name in image menu in fog),
and changed his location:
And now it works fine !!
Now, how to create an image properly? ^^
I donāt think itās the right way to do it
Edit:
In "All images" menu, the image size on server is still 0 ā¦
Hi everyone,
Fog 1.2.0
Debian 8.2 x64
Hosts: XP with 2 partitions on 1 disk
Iā'm trying to upload an image from a client, the transfert works, but once the task is completed, itās impossible to find the image (there is nothing on /images) and the server tells me:
By default the images are copied on /images right?
Something is wrong? I tried to search in /tmp/pigz1 , but there is nothing on /tmp ā¦
i didnāt use special caracteres for the images et hostās names.
Please help me!
EDIT:
I canāt deploy too:
No itās ok now, i just made a mistake.
I am very happy!
Thanks all for the help!
Hi!
I used E1000 on my VMs aaaand it works! (But still in āinternal networkā mode)
Unfortunately, I am faced with a new problem, i can upload an image (from a XP client), but I canāt deploy it on the same Client (for testing)
I changed type of HDD controler, nothing newā¦
Do you have some advices?
(I feel that I could never finish this properly ahah)

Edit: The clientās system is about ~5Go but the imageās size on the server is only 1,34Go, is it normal??
@Tom-Elliott I used this to isolate my network-test from my companyās network. But iāll try this tomorrow.
(Pardon my english )
Anyway thanks guys for your replys!
