I have two clients on a network with a storage node in it, with the Locations plugin installed and configured. My Windows DHCP server is pointing to the onsite storage node with the correct boot file.
One client is an EliteBook 8540w. Another client is a Hyper-V VM.
The Hyper-V VM boots to the FOG menu without issues.
The Elitebook 8540w simply gets “PXE-E11 Arp Timeout” and reboots.
How can I resolve this issue?
@Sebastian-Roth I never set a mysql password on the storage node. What or where is it?
@Tom-Elliott Maybe I don’t know which passwords to use. There appears to be a thousand different usernames/passwords and another thousand different references to them.
On the main server, I added the storage node using the “management” username and password that the node spat out when running the installer:

I’ve got the user/pass for fogstorage from the main server, how would I go about checking to make sure that is set correctly on the node?
@Sebastian-Roth I can access the web interface on the main FOG server with no issues, and there are no problems there. Mysql is confirmed to be running. This issue is with a storage node, and the web interface is disabled with the “This is a storage node, please do not access the web ui here!” message.
@Tom-Elliott Plenty of storage space to go around on the node, so no problems there. This the df -h output on the node, the main server is pretty much the same, with about 30 GB of images taken up on sda1:

@moses Ran the installer on both the main and the node, but the boot file is unchanged on the node. Same error when I attempt to boot from it.

Keep in mind the goal is to have clients download images from whichever server is at the site they happen to be at.
@Wayne-Workman I’m using Trunk, so the group policy method is perfect! Feel free to post the script for the older versions, if other people stumble across this thread.
We have 50-100 computers that we wish to add to the inventory in FOG. How can we do this without having to manually boot to network and register them all one by one, or get their MAC addresses and manually type them in one by one?
Is there a way of scripting all of that? They are all in Active Directory if that helps our cause.

@george1421 I know it’s likely a matter of opinion, but would you recommend using Trunk in a production environment if there’s a possibility of bugs?
I’m getting FOG set up and everything is going swimmingly.
I’m confused about storage nodes however. We have multiple sites that are all interconnected over an MPLS circuit, and each site has it’s own DHCP server and scope/subnet with static routes between everything. Should I set up each site with a standard storage node? Or should I follow the instructions to set up multiple PXE/TFTP servers on the storage nodes?
Ultimately what I want is for each site’s computers to directly get the image from the storage node onsite. Will the standard storage nodes accomplish that?
