    • RE: Bandwidth graph is gone

      @Wayne-Workman I reinstalled due to a Linux kernel issue, but nothing changed as far as configuration. The one thing I did do was restore from a backup of the database.

    • RE: Bandwidth graph is gone

      @Wayne-Workman The errors don’t really cause much problem for me because I don’t spend much time on the homepage.

      If there are any other logs I can post that would be helpful, let me know.

      Edit: that was the first thing I checked, both are correct.

    • Bandwidth graph is gone

      After reinstalling to a CentOS server, everything is working fine, except the bandwidth graph is gone, appears to be something awry with jQuery:

      alt text

      It errors out every update interval.

      http://fogserverIP/status/bandwidth.php returns the following:

      {"dev":"unknown","rx":0,"tx":0}

    • RE: PXE boot fails on fresh install - CentOS 7 (Build 7218)

      @Sebastian-Roth Actually in giving me that suggestion, I found the issue. I have a Tomato router that I use for DHCP, and I misread the Wiki when it shows how to set up that for PXE. I used the wrong boot file:

      dhcp-boot=pxelinux.0,,192.168.1.201

      Where it should have been:

      dhcp-boot=undionly.kpxe,,192.168.1.201

      Made that change, and bingo.

      Thanks all for your help!

      @Wayne-Workman And here’s the ipxe folder’s contents:

      [sysadmin@localhost bin]$ ls -la /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/

      And, just to be thorough, here’s my TFTP settings in FOG:

      alt text

      I manually set the password when I was checking FTP problems, I ensured it matches everywhere that it should.

      Here’s the installer log (I did udpate to 7230 this morning, still seeing the kernel panic):

    • PXE boot fails on fresh install - CentOS 7 (Build 7218)

      Set up FOG according the wiki for CentOS 7, fired up a test client and get a kernel panic when trying to register it (or any other option in the menu that requires bzImage).

      According to this post, it’s an issue with the kernel architecture mismatch. Sure enough, I appear to be missing the x64 kernel. I attempt to update the kernel thru the web GUI, but get this message:

      alt text

      Then I’m lead down another rabbit hole to troubleshoot FTP. Long story short, there ain’t nothing wrong with FTP. Recent posts regarding this problem say to download the kernels manually using the script from here.

      Hooray, new kernels! Woopee!

      Except they don’t work:

      alt text

      I get the same error on 3 different machines, so I’m fairly sure it’s not a bad NIC or something of that nature.

      Any other ideas before throw in the towel?

      Edit: As of this original post I’m on the latest version.

      @Sebastian-Roth Oh, I’m silly. You are correct. That page returns:

      {"dev":"unknown","rx":0,"tx":0}

      I can confirm that the interface is set correct in storage nodes for this server, if that’s related.

      @Tom-Elliott That did the trick! FOG is installed again and running fine again.

      One issue I noticed is the bandwidth graph is gone on the home page. The http://fogserver/status/bandwidth.php page seems to be missing.

    • Best way to move FOG from dead system

      Long story short, something happened to the CentOS installation of my main FOG server, and my backups are no good. Can’t boot, but the data is still there. Rather than try and figure out what the hell happened to the kernel, I’m just going to reinstall FOG on a different machine and move the data there (I can still get into the HDD from a live linux disk).

      I know that I should copy my .fogsettings file so the installer sets up everything the same, and copy my images, obviously.

      However, I’m trying to figure out the best way to move the MySQL DB. Given that I can’t boot up the system, how I can I best move the DB to the new system?

      I read in a couple places you can copy /var/lib/mysql once MySQL is installed, but I would want a second opinion before I move forward.

      @george1421 Unfortunately, when attempting to do that, the host doesn’t boot. It’s in the same subnet as the master FOG installation. This particular host I know already has WOL enabled, as I was testing it with another imaging solution before I started using FOG.

      I’m sorry I’m not really much of a networking expert.

      Basically I’ve got three subnets: 192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0 and 192.168.4.0

      How would I go about configuring the WOL plugin so I can broadcast on those subnets?

    • Does the Locations plugin also handle Wake-On-LAN?

      My setup is storage groups at a few different sites, with a master node in each. I use the location plugin which works great for image capture/deployment and replication, but now that I’ve got all that figured out…

      Does the location plugin also handle Wake-On-LAN?

      ie, I set up a deployment task for a computer at one of the remote storage groups, and the WOL packet is sent from that site’s storage node?

      Or do I need to configure WOL forwarding from from the master FOG site?

      ie, all WOL packets are sent from the master server, regardless of where the computer’s “location” is set up in the plugin?
