Hello

I would like to paratage the folder /images on an external server so that it is stored on our Synology NAS. I have done sharing in NFS, it is well taken into account on the home page of the Storage Node. Unable to capture an image and have access to the active share.

Below is the error message that I get :

Bonjour

J’aimerai paratager le dossier /images sur un serveur externe afin qu’il sois stocké sur notre NAS Synology. J’arrive a effectué le partage en NFS cela est bien pris en compte sur la page d’accueil du Storage Node. Mais impossible d’effectuer une capture d’image et ayant ce partage actif.

Vous trouverez ci-dessous le message d’erreur que j’obtiens

Ci-dessous voici ma version de kernel. Dois-je faire le test avec différent kernel ?

I reset the server. I installed Ubuntu and then the latest Fog update. Everything worked correctly I even managed to capture and deploy an image of a MacMini without worries. When I put on the IMac I capture the image again on Fog. Then at the time of the deployment I found the same error message with a command line to test “sgdisk -gel /images/CO515/D1.mbr /dev/sda”

So I tried this command on the server and there is the drama. After restarting the machine this is the message I had

I tried everything and could not retrieve the data from the server. So I reinstall everything and do all the operations again. Installing Ubuntu, Fog, Capturing and deploying the MacMini is ok. Same operation for the IMac I had the same error message I retype the same command line on the server and I have my server that had the same worries. I do not think this command line is the right one. Do you have any other solution?

I may have a complementary information to add you there is on this IMac a DualBoot with windows. The hard disk of the IMac is partitioned into 2 a MAC image and a PC image. There is no DualBoot on the MacMini

J’ai remis à zéro le serveur. J’ai installer Ubuntu puis la dernière mise à jour de Fog. Tout fonctionnais correctement j’ai même réussi à capturer et déployer une image d’un MacMini sans soucis. Quand je me suis mis sur l’IMac j’ai capturer à nouveau l’image sur Fog. Puis au moment du déploiement j’ai retrouvé le même message d’erreur avec une ligne de commande à tester “sgdisk -gel /images/CO515/D1.mbr /dev/sda”

J’ai donc essayé cette commande sur le serveur et là c’est le drame. Après avoir redémarrer la machine voici le message que j’avais

J’ai tout essayé et impossible de récupérer les données du serveur. J’ai donc tout réinstaller et refais toutes les opérations. Installation de Ubuntu, Fog, Capturer et déployer le MacMini c’est ok. Même opération pour l’IMac j’ai eu le même message d’erreur j’ai retaper la même ligne de commande sur le serveur et j’ai mon serveur qui a eu le même soucis. Je ne pense pas que cette ligne de commande soit la bonne. Avez-vous d’autre solution ?

J’ai peut être une information complémentaire à vous ajouter il y a sur cette IMac un DualBoot avec windows. Le disque dur de l’IMac est partitionné en 2 une image MAC et une image PC. Il n’y a pas de DualBoot sur le MacMini

Quand je travaillais sur la version 1.2.0 de FOG les images MAC fonctionnaient correctement

Actuellement je n’ai pas de machine MAC dans mon parc se sont les premières que l’on déploie avec la nouvelle version de FOG

Yes I access the PXE boot menu and here are the screenshots of the FOG compatibility test

I have already tried the 4.8.x kernels with Fog 1.2.0 and the network card was powered. But the one that gave more conclusive results was the kernels “Kernel.TomElliott.4.7.1.64”

I just checked in the bios and the hard drive type is PM951 NVMe SAMSUNG … Does this mean I have to switch to FOG 1.3.0?

J’ai déjà essayé les kernels 4.8.x avec Fog 1.2.0 et la carte réseau était alimenté. Mais celui qui a donné des résultat plus concluant était le kernels “Kernel.TomElliott.4.7.1.64”

Je viens de vérifier dans le bios et le type de disque dur est PM951 NVMe SAMSUNG … Cela veut dire que je suis obligé de passer sur FOG 1.3.0 ?

We have just acquired several AlienWare VXFHH and we would like to use the deployment of the machines via Fog except that I can not start the application. Every time I start the AlienWare network I have several error messages according to the kernel I use we will try to solve the one with the kernels 4.1.2 with FOG 1.2.0

So here’s the message:

i8042: No controller found

I did my research and it seems that it concerns the keyboard like explain by
@george1421

The keyboard controllers on the early mobos used an embedded intel controller 8051. The 8042 is just a newer and significantly smaller version of the 8051. So the FOS kernel has thrown the error above because it can’t find something that resembles it.

In simple english, the FOS kernel can’t find the keyboard controller.

I assume you are using fog 1.2.0 stable. (You should see 1.2.0 posted on the FOG Cloud on the WebGUI management page).

How to fix: One way would be to upgrade to the trunk version of FOG to get the latest kernels. The other way is to manually update the kernels on 1.2.0 to the trunk version. NOTE: Only update the kernels not the kernels + inits.

You can download the new kernels from here. The latest ones are 4.6.2 (or newer)

Rename the existing files in /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe

Then place the downloaded files in that folder path

Reboot your target computer

I got error message to disappeared but I ended up with an Attempting to register infinite host. I followed the advice of @Amir But it has no effect

The cause of this issue might be related to the configuration file located at /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default. Take a look at the parameter under FULL HOST REGISTRATION sub menu and make sure the IP address of the FOG Server that the host is trying to resister is the correct IP address of your FOG Server. in order to do this go to Terminal and type: sudo vi /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default. If the IP address of your FOG Server is not what its suppose to be then make the changes, save your config, exit and then type: sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart.
Hope this helped.

When I run Fog on the client machine I can access the Client System Information (Compatibility) but the MAC address of the machine is not detected and there is no IP address assigned to this step then That the DHCP works correctly because I can load the FOG client interface

Nous venons de faire l’acquisition de plusieurs AlienWare VXFHH et nous voudrions utiliser le déploiement des machines via Fog sauf que je n’arrive pas à démarrer l’application. A chaque fois que je démarre l’AlienWare en réseau j’ai plusieurs message d’erreur selon le kernel que j’utilise nous allons essayer de résoudre celui avec le kernels 4.1.2 avec FOG 1.2.0

In simple english, the FOS kernel can’t find the keyboard controller.

I assume you are using fog 1.2.0 stable. (You should see 1.2.0 posted on the FOG Cloud on the WebGUI management page).

How to fix: One way would be to upgrade to the trunk version of FOG to get the latest kernels. The other way is to manually update the kernels on 1.2.0 to the trunk version. NOTE: Only update the kernels not the kernels + inits.

You can download the new kernels from here. The latest ones are 4.6.2 (or newer)

Rename the existing files in /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe

Then place the downloaded files in that folder path

Reboot your target computer

Je message d’erreur à disparue mais je me suis retrouvé avec un Attempting to register host infini. J’ai suivi les conseille de @Amir mais cela ne fait aucun effet.

The cause of this issue might be related to the configuration file located at /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default. Take a look at the parameter under FULL HOST REGISTRATION sub menu and make sure the IP address of the FOG Server that the host is trying to resister is the correct IP address of your FOG Server. in order to do this go to Terminal and type: sudo vi /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default. If the IP address of your FOG Server is not what its suppose to be then make the changes, save your config, exit and then type: sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart.

Lors du lancement de Fog sur la machine client j’arrive à accéder au Client System Information (Compatibility) mais l’adresse MAC de la machine n’est pas détecté et on ne vois pas d’adresse IP d’attribué à cette étape alors que le DHCP fonctionne correctement car j’arrive à charger l’interface client de FOG

When launching a windows machine with integrated Realtek PCIe GBE Familly Controller Servies V2.31 (10/12/09), I have an error message and I am completely blocked you an idea. I use version 1.2.0 of fog with the latest version of the current kernel 3.19.3 . Mon problème était bien la version du kernel mais pour mettre à jour le kernel il fallait que je rentre le proxy donc oui tu avais raison.

Maintenant j’ai un nouveau problème voici le message d’erreur

My problem was indeed the version of the kernel but to update the kernel I had returned the proxy so yes you were right.

Now I have a new problem here is the error message
