    • Directory Cleaner

Would like to use directory cleaner to keep the users folder empty for some of our computers in high traffic areas. My question is can you make an entry for a specific computer?

    • Questions about FOG Backup

Hello All, I am currently backing up our FOG data to a 2TB USB hard drive my question is can I still image computers while the backup is running? Also has anyone created a custom script that would show backup progress or show what image it’s currently backing up?

      Thanks

    • RE: Slow uploading and downloading

Sorry I didn’t include more details, most of our images were created when we were running 0.32 however we have a couple of new images that we are trying to use that we are experiencing slow transfer rates with. We are running Ubuntu 11, all of our cables do work and our network admin has checked the switches to make sure they are configured correctly. I have changed the FOG_PIGZ_COMP and I am attempting to image a computer now.

      Thanks for your quick response!

    • Slow uploading and downloading

I have recently upgraded from 0.32 to 1.2 and have noticed that the upload and download time is horrible. I used to be able to image computers in less than 10 mins and now it takes 45 to an hour and uploading takes between 2 and 3 hours. I have tried different kernels but no luck speeding up the process. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.

      Thanks
      Matt

You guys are AWESOME!!! Thanks for all your help, I just imaged the first computer since the upgrade and it went very smooth because of your help. I do have a question about the image screen, it shows up bright orange and green is there any way to revert it back to the blue and gray that was easier on the eyes? not a big deal if I can’t just thought I would ask.

      Thanks

Sorry, I did clear the cache this morning and that fixed the problem thank you for helping and for creating an awesome program. I am now trying to image my first computer since the upgrade but I am getting an error that says “Invalid operating system id (0) Computer will reboot in 1 minute”

    • Upgraded FOG to 1.2.0 now problems start

I upgraded our FOG server to 1.2.0, it seemed to go well but when I login to FOG I can’t search for my host but if I list all host all of them appear. Also if I look at the general settings of a host none of the Host Menu links on the left work. Any help is appreciated!!

      Thanks

    • RE: Upgrade server

I haven’t run the installer yet, I wanted to be sure I could set it up the way I want it first. Should I be able to do it with the 1.2.0 installer version as well? Also do I need to drop the database before I run the installer?

    • RE: Upgrade server

I have FOG .32 running on Ubuntu 11.04 that has a 2TB raid to keep my images on. I would like to make that a storage node and attach it to a new server with updated OS and FOG.

Ok. Even though you are wiping the computers make sure they have been deleted out of active directory before FOG tries to join them to the domain otherwise it won’t be able to join them.

The computer you created the image from, was it joined to the domain when you ran fogprep and pulled the image to the fog server? Also the computers you are trying to image, were they on the domain before you imaged them with windows 7 or are they brand new computers?

    • RE: Joining Domain Problems with windows 7

So its not changing the hostname or joining the domain? Does the fog service on the client have the correct ip or hostname for your fog server?

    • RE: Joining Domain Problems with windows 7

Is this log from the fog service on the client computer? And is the account your trying to use to join the domain setup so the password doesn’t expire? we have ours setup domain\user using a domain admin account with a password set to not expire.
