Hi, thanks for your response, I guess I was vague, yes all computers have the client installed and in the past when I would force a task to start the box would pop up that says the client has a task scheduled to start and the client would reboot, It was just a nice tool to use, but maybe that is gone now, thanks for your help!

Is this a windows 7 machine that is freshly reformatted? or one that you cleaned up to pull the image for?

Just in my personal experiences I have never had to set up the DNS and as far as the address for the dhcp server, I always set mine to match the fog address, it works for me. As far as having your fog server on a laptop, you are going to have to run a couple of different commands in the terminal every time you turn on the laptop…

did you run sysprep as administrator before you tried to pull the image? (first pic)

Hi, I am currently running fog in a school setting and am working on renaming some computers, I was wondering if anyone would have any idea why the clients are not automatically restarting and getting the new computer name? The clients also do not automatically restart when I try to “force” a task through. We recently got all new switches, could this be a setting on the switches that needs to be addressed?

Hello, i am trying to set up a fog server using proxyDHCP and have followed the wiki to this point where i need to restart the dnsmasq and i get this

Yea it is happening after I boot windows, sorry for the mix up on thinking it was FOG, do you have any suggestions on what I could try to fix it? Have tried just about everything I can find on the internet?

I am cloning a group of HP mini’s and when I do, each of them gets a “default gateway cannot be reached” error when they are restarted, I have looked around and cannot find any solutions, please help!

Just a quick easy question, when you pull a second image, does it delete the previous one for that computer in the fog storage?

Is this with an upload or deployment?

I dont think it is a bad disk, the image always completes perfectly it’s just slow and it is with any win 7 machine (I use one image for 25-30 computers)…the pauses don’t cause any trouble, the “transfer rate” just stops moving for about a second as well as the data transferred and then moves on for the next 20 seconds as if nothing happened

I was wondering if anyone has any idea why my upload/deploy speeds when doing a windows 7 image are so slow? when I do xp I run about 2.5 GiB/min and when I am doing a Win 7 machine I do about 275 MiB/min with random pauses every 10-20 seconds, any help is appreciated!

I ran check disc, have decided that this is a bad hard drive, the scan did fix some bad sectors but the image will still not upload, this HDD had problems when it came into my office, so I am trying to pull of a fresh reformat with windows 7 and it is still stopping at one spot. Thanks for you help!

It has to be a bad file, because the errors always kick in at the same spot in the upload, but I am not experienced enough to figure out what file it could be

Well I ran SeaTools and something strange happened, when I accepted the license agreement after booting from the CD it began to search for drives to scan, and then just quit and started windows normally…

Uploading an image on Windows 7 I get passed the first partition and when it starts the second one, I get to a certain point and it says this… HELP[ATTACH=full]282[/ATTACH]

I am trying to deploy an image to a dell E5410 and when I boot from LAN I get the client start up menu, but it will not go into the image deployment, just sits on the FOG screen, any ideas?

I got it to work, was an error in our autolog program, thanks for all of the help
