@kermit1991 Do you see this issue on all your clients or just when using an USB ethernet adapter? Have you tried using the ethernet adapter together with different clients. Sometimes adapters and client’s BIOS/UEFI firmware just don’t play together well enough. On the other hand some USB ethernet adapters just don’t play nicely altogether. It’s a long process to figure out what exactly the issue is. So start by telling us more about the exact USB adapter you have and make/model of PC/laptop you use.

@kermit1991 this is most likely the php version you’re using. I’m just guessing it’s 7.2? The message won’t hurt anything and some work has gone in to limit these messages too.

Has anyone tried to use the snap-in feature of Fog to send pop-up messages to users?

@kermit1991 Sounds like a user context issue. I’m not sure on what the snap in engine runs as but I would assume SYSTEM. If this is the case your message would appear on SYSTEM’s desktop, which doesn’t exist.

You can figure out who the snap in is running as by looking in Task Manager or testing e.g. ‘whoami > %temp%\snapinuser.txt’ – this will print the username running the script.

I suggest using msg as well: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/msg
